BURNS--Ammon Bundy and his band of militants appeared ready to settle in for the long haul Saturday when a rifle-toting "security detail" broke the relative lull that had fallen over their weeklong standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
The morning began with a notable change in scenery. The ornate sign that used to greet visitors with "Welcome To Your National Wildlife Refuge" now advertised the "Harney County Resource Center" in white block letters over a blue background......
Members of the Pacific Patriots Network, a consortium of groups from Oregon, Washington and Idaho, emerged from their cars and trucks carrying rifles and sidearms and clad in military attire......
Their leader, Brandon Curtiss, said the group came to "de-escalate" the situation by providing security inside and outside the compound......
Within minutes of their arrival, a man who said he was speaking on Bundy's behalf emerged from the occupied refuge headquarters and announced that the visitors had been asked to leave....
Todd MacFarlane, a Utah lawyer who said he was acting as a mediator for Bundy and the local community, told those gathered that Bundy was worried about the perception the group might create.
"We don't need that," MacFarlane told them. "We don't want it and we're asking you to leave."
Soon afterward, Curtiss and company piled into their 15 or so trucks and cars and left the refuge compound.....
He's (Ammon Bundy) said the protestors plan to stay until local rancher Dwight Hammond and his son, Steven, are released from prison and the 187,000-acre refuge is divvied up among area residents to be used for livestock grazing and logging.....
the new sign outside the headquarters seems to indicate the militants are digging in. The sign cones with a fresh moniker for group members, who now call themselves Citizens for Constitutional Freedom.....

Remember! Bill Clinton rained fire and brimstone down on the Waco compound through his Attorney General, Janet Reno!
Obama has a front man right now to urge the protest to end.
Sheriff Dave Ward looks like one of the locals.
Businessman Tim Smith, who got on the safety committee, happens to be Vice-Chairman of the local Republican Party.
Smith says he ‘cares about the issue” and wants to ‘start a movement’.
But I think he represents the Republicans desire to take over the issue and manipulate people’s feelings like they do with everything else they never do anything about like Obamacare.
The Bundy’s and friends have gotten the nation’s attention by doing what they did with a protest that’s beyond the control of the political system and the political machine.
You saw exactly how they would respond to a front door roll up. Wonder who was minding the back door? ................................. How many more were placed in the out buildings with scoped rifles? Neither side wants trouble, the see each other in the faces of their opponents. The only ones who want trouble are the members of the Media so they can spread more hatred.

How would YOU know what a Republican in Eastern Oregon wants to do?
My sense of history and political realities says major parties are afraid of anyone outside their control.
The Kennedy’s-Democrats were scared to death of racial violence and losing white votes because of Martin Luther King’s activities in the early 1960’s.
That’s why the FBI was recording MLK’s sexual activities on audio tape.
The Republicans are just as scared of violence today that would cause them to lose ‘moderate votes’ and I think Republican leaders everywhere including Eastern Oregon know this.
ALL REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES HAVE CALLED ON THE PROTESTORS TO LEAVE......
Its a fact that the co-chairman of the Republican Party in Harney County, Oregon, Tim Smith, wants the protest to end at the wildlife refuge and has signed a letter to that effect.
Without that protest, the plight of the Hammond’s and other land owners would not have been raised to the level of attention its getting and there would be no chance of anything really changing.
Here is a link to Santilli's interview last night with Brandon Curtiss of the Idaho III Percenters group that showed up at the refuge last night. Curtiss was one of the men who went out to talk face to face with the FBI. He is a former police officer. He gives the whole backstory in this interview and explains why they did what they did yesterday. They had no intention of joining the occupation protest inside the refuge, but they did want to go and talk to Bundy about their intentions and their concerns with things that had been going on (see * below). The media has spun this into: "They arrived and were told by Bundy to leave!" Actually, the truth is, the lawyers from Utah wanted them to leave because "The media is going to spin this into an escalation!" So who is causing the escalation? The Idaho 3%, or the media? Listen and then decide if these guys are a bunch of backwoods yahoos playing weekend shoot-em-up "because 'Murica ya'll!" as the Oregonian and other media would like you to believe. I think not.

* They have had problems out at the refuge with some disturbed people showing up, causing trouble and wanting to kick something off. They keep talking about "Louie the Prepper," who appeared at the refuge the other night and got into a fist fight with the guys guarding the front gate. I don't know who "Louie the Prepper" is, but it appears he is well-known to all of them and that he was causing problems during the Bundy Ranch dispute as well.
