As senior members of the Obama administration's national security team meet with technology leaders in Silicon Valley, the White House's National Security Council announced that the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security would team up to launch a Countering Violent Extremism Task Force, according to the announcement.
The White House background document accompanying the announcement does contain any specific reference to the types of "violent extremism" the administration seeks to counter.
The State Department additionally is set to launch a Global Engagement center that will "to place an intensified focus on empowering and enabling the voices of international partners, governmental and non-governmental, and shift away from direct messaging," according to the White House.
Without mentioning Muslim terrorism by name, the White House said that these efforts are being taken in the wake of terrorist attacks in France and San Bernardino California.
The meetings with technology leaders in Silicon Valley are aimed at supplementing this effort, according to the White House.
The government and private sector partnership "will allow us to place an intensified focus on empowering and enabling the voices of international partners, governmental and non-governmental, and shift away from direct messaging," the White House said.
"Todayâs developments reflect President Obamaâs commitment to take every possible action to confront and interdict terrorist activities wherever they occur, including online," it added.
The announcement comes just a day after the Justice Department announced that it had busted a terror cell in the U.S. that was being operated by foreign refugees who had entered the U.S. legally.

Taqiyya up the butt.
Hussein is going to rein in the DOJ, BLM, BATFE, IRS, EPA, etc. ?
Guess which group they will not consider violent.
Pray America wakes
I don't like the sound of "Global Engagement center." Sounds a little too new world order.
I think the democrat party should be considered a violent extremist group since it has officially aligned itself with Black Lies Matter, Black Panthers, Rev Wright, and what is left of the Weather Underground.
Extreme what? Vegetarians?
... there is no extremism, just ask josh pie hole
Very much NWO.
“enabling the voices of international partners” can only mean one thing.
Giving other nations a say-so in American domestic policy.
They wont be investigating Ovama’s muslim brothers.
And i meant Ovama, as a play on ovaries.
You can bet the Rapeugees will have free reign.
This is bunk. It is nothing but cover for politically motivated spying and other up to no good operations.
I'm prolly older then you..I “Pray” God wakes....

obozo can look in Philly if he needs to see who’s causing the problem.
This skinny assed lying coward’s task forces are more damaging to the US than the combined task forces of Japan and Germany in the 40’s.
I guess he really doesn’t like Hillary.
Not gonna have much success in stopping radical Muslim terrorism if you’re so politically correct you’re
not even allowed to name what you’re going to try to stop.
Would REALLY love to see at least SOME of the media use the term “radical Muslim terrorism” when asking questions, and the first question I’d like to see asked is “Why are you expending your resources on stopping violent extremism instead of stopping radical Muslim terrorism? Josh Ernest would be twisting himself into a Möbius strip trying to answer THAT question.
Obama is importing another 200,000 Syrian terrorists, and he brings up this crap?
