Under assault from Donald Trump, Ted Cruz offered something of a thinly veiled contrast Friday....
Cruz, in the middle of an intense 28-county bus tour, has been arguing that he is out working the GOP field on the ground as they rely on "slick Hollywood TV ads."
Asked by reporters if he had much faith in the ground game of a Trump, Cruz mocked his opulence.
"I feel confident that I'm never going to have a plane with my name on it," he said at a church. "How do you run a grassroots campaign? It's very time intensive. It's labor intensive. You don't do it sitting back in the easy chair. You don't do it from a TV studio in Manhattan."
Cruz has consistently poked fun at Trump's wealth, telling a late night host that he would like Trump to write his campaign a large check and joking in a GOP debate that the New York builder should personally pay for a wall on the Mexico border.
However, the jokes at Trump's expense come after the billionaire businessman's has spent significant airtime ribbing Cruz over his Canadian birthplace and whether it jeopardizes his eligibility to be president. Constitutional scholars have said Cruz's citizenship will not be an issue.

The operative syndrome is with people who squeeze their eyes shut and jam their fingers in their ears so they may refuse to acknowledge the 26-year-long record of Donald Trump's demonstrated left-leaning moderate politics. I would bet dollars to donuts that there is a direct correlation between MSM consumption and degree of support for Trump -- the bigger the MSM consumption, the more likely to give Trump credibility.
If watching "The Apprentice" is supposed to be what smart Americans do to understand what a brilliant choice Trump is for America, then American presidential politics are now way beyond a joke.
Fellow conservatives, the time is now. Dump Trump. Choose Cruz.
See how that works?
Sounds like CRuz is telling us he wants to remain a career politician and has no desire to receive an income the old fashioned way ... by actually earning it.
Lol!!
For Cruz to be a NBC he would need to have been born in the United States to two parents who were each a citizen of the United States at the time of his birth. This would make him a citizen without necessity of statute--or--a "natural" citizen
Cruz is an American citizen by statute. And what the statute bestows, the statute can remove. This is why the Founders insisted that the POTUS be a natural citizen of the United States.
NO! NO! NO! Favoring a rich businessman who does not need rich donors comes from decades of utter disappointment from electing career politicians who say one thing before election, then go back to serving their rich donors to get votes, and push the cheap labor express. Watch even Ted Cruz, arguably the most conservative career politician, pushing the cheap labor express here:
Path to Legal Status for Illegals
I stand corrected.
Waiting...
I think it’s BVS, (Battered Voter Syndrome). Symptoms of BVS are getting repeatedly cheated and lied to by those in D.C. and enjoying it. Over and over. Most of the predators are lawyers turned politician types. The clear pattern of the symptoms vary from mild enjoyment to becoming hysterically protective of the predator fraud. All while they’re getting lied to, conned, deceived and robbed.
But it will buy Cruz's vote.
Sorry you don’t have collectibles of your success in your private den or office. I do. Maybe because you haven’t accomplished anything of note.
Speaking of monumentally stupid, this is what you're seeing Finny.
That’s my call as well. This Trump/Cruz battle is as real a fight as celebrity wrestling.
If I say I don’t want my name on a plane it means I am a communist?
Class envy has always been an issue here
If you’re not on fixed income you’re rich
Then should Cruz remove his name from his bus?
Egotistical on airtrans and okay on ground trans
Gotcha
Still waiting and crickets chirping. Are you an ad hominem one-trick-pony??
Still nothing - except ad hominem??
Nice.
