Republican presidential candidate Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says that no one who has ever run for president knows more about fixing immigration in the United States than he does.
In a New Hampshire town hall meeting, the Florida Senator argued that he was not a supporter of amnesty â even though his immigration bill proposed by the Senate âGang of Eightâ offered illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.
âNo one who has ever run for president understands this issue personally better than I do and thatâs why I can tell you and you should tell your friends that no one running for president is better prepared to fix it than me,â he said in response to a voter who asked Rubio how voters would ever trust him on immigration because of his âsoftâ reputation on the issue.
Rubio grew increasingly passionate as he discussed the issue which has nagged him on the campaign trail as he has tried to emphasize his conservative credentials. During his speech he reminded the audience that he and his wifeâs family were all immigrants and grew up in an immigrant community which made him more qualified to address the issue.
âI understand this issue personally, I understand the good, the bad, and the ugly, and every aspect of it,â he said.
âI donât support amnesty,â he added. âThere has to be real consequences for violating our immigration laws, so if you are a criminal you going to be immediately deported ⦠if you violated our immigration laws there will be a substantial consequences for having done so.â

If by “fixing” you mean granting them all amnesty then yes, I agree!
But if you mean getting rid of these invaders... then frankly you are the WORST!
Desperation sets in for Marco. Say anything, and hope it sticks.
Go away Senior Amnesty; we know who you are; what you are and who owns you.
“Fixing” isn’t giving them all citizenship. There is no way in Cowboy Hell I will EVER vote for this man.
GroÃe Lüge
Yeah Marco, but granting AMNESTY to all the alien invaders, and then declaring the problem "fixed" is NOT WHAT'S BEST FOR AMERICA, or AMERICANS!
Rubio putting the fix in.
No, Marco, you are not. You are, however the best when it comes to lying, backstabbing, being deceitful, and betraying those who voted for you. At that, you have no peer.
Note: Fix can mean “make permanent”.
My thought has always been that if you broke the law you were a criminal. It appears that Rubio doesn’t believe that breaking our immigration laws by coming here unlawfully makes one a criminal. Wonder what other definitions confuse him.
How about enforcing our immigration laws, and sending everyone who is here illegally home? It doesn’t take a genius with a bag of tricks. It takes a love of this country and a little backbone.
translation: Judge me by what I say, not by what I do.
The only thing Rubio is “best” at is cuddling up to morons like McCain, McConnell, Schumer and Reid.
Around here we call him full of bull droppings.
Dear Marco,
Gang of eight is NOT representative government. It’s a disgusting power grab and is extremely insulting to the American people.
Therefore, it’s a huge mistake aligning yourself with a gang of eight on any issue, let alone on ‘comprehensive’ immigration reform.
You shot yourself in the foot. Do us all a favor ... bow out gracefully and go home (since you’re so bored).
Keep those lies coming, Rubio.
