Three of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy's sons and what they claim are 150 militia members have occupied a federal building in eastern Oregon in order to keep two local ranchers out of prison, according to local reports.

The group is believed to be heavily-armed.

According to The Oregonian, the group seized the headquarters building at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge about 50 miles outside Burns, Ore. The remote facility was closed and unoccupied at the time.

Bundy and his supporters were in Oregon after two men were scheduled to go to prison on Monday for setting fires on federal land, according to a report by Oregon Public Broadcasting. The case has caused a stir in eastern Oregon because the two men were charged under anti-terrorism laws.

They are held under a trust.

That is how they got around the constitution. But, they (the Feds) have failed that trust and the trust can and should be handed back to....the states, or better yet, the local areas control.

Is there any chance that the land and water from these two ranches can be used for the ChiCom auto plant coming to Las Vegas?

“And don’t let the hippies con you with their BS.”

Went through 14 years of government indoctrination and they have yet to fool me. ;) I honestly don’t have anything against these practices. I was concerned about possible arson and the people who could be injured as a result, not about “controversial” farming/wilderness techniques.

Yeah, the saying always was that the guy advocating most for violence was the informant.

Not too long after Harper’s Ferry, ‘John Brown’s Body’ was a Union marching song. Just sayin’.

US Army Colonel Robert E. Lee was the officer in charge at Harper’s Ferry.

At first I thought this was one of those idiot rancher stories, like the guy who got shot for attacking the cops in Montana last month for shooting his crazed injured cow that had been hit on the highway. Even his friends said he was always looking for a fight.

But these guys seem nice. They didn’t even encourage this militia response. The problem starts that the government bought all the land around them for a wilderness on a local mountain. The government wants their land badly. They even went to court to force the ranchers to give them right of first refusal if they ever sell it..

“But something is brewing tonight that smells bad and is worthy of Breaking News treatment.

This may be a false flag op for those who consider such things.”

Agreed. Getting trolled by an agent provocateur, too.

You know what, you were right given your understanding at the moment that they were crazed arsonists. No worry sir.

What do these “conservative” militia members so when a “far-left” militia shows up?

These idiots are giving Obama the ammunition he needs for more gun control.

I didn’t always like my orders in the Army. If asked my opinion, I gave it. Then I shut up followed the final orders.

I think we may have some shared experiences.

“ok sir, sorry about the “stay in the city” thing.”

You didn’t offend me. I’m sorry I was stupid enough to jump to conclusions without knowing the whole story. It was not well done at all, and any censure I should receive would be justly given. I probably do sound like an idiot who has lived in the city her whole life.

Here is “Russia Today” coverage published two hours ago:

Headlined:

‘Armed militia, incl. Bundy bros, occupy forest preserve HQ in Oregon, call “US patriots” to arms’

First part of story:

‘Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s three sons and ‘about 150’ militiamen have occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge HQ to protest the pending imprisonment of two Oregon ranchers accused of arson, arguing the federal government has no authority in local cases.

“We’re going to be freeing these lands up, and getting ranchers back to ranching, getting the loggers back to logging, getting the miners back to mining where they could do it under the protection of the people and not be afraid of the tyranny that’s been set upon them.” Ammon Bundy, who appears to be leader of the group, said in a Facebook video posted by Sarah Dee Spurlock on Saturday.......’

It’s a legitimate concern. Grass fires on Vandenburg Air Force base have ‘outrun’ and asphyxiated people trying to get clear of them.

Col Lee was not the officer in charge of the armory.
He was the officer assigned a unit of Marines to take it back, put down the rebellion and arrest John Brown.

“The Feds may be well informed, but I will never trust them to tell the truth about what is really going on.”

Say what you will, I trust the current feds more than the North Korean media, and...

and...

Hmm.

I guess that is about it. Maybe Iran?

The extenuating circumstances were unclear to me

Don't get me wrong, I also don't know the details of this story. I don't know how often their land type needs to be burned. I don't even know if there is trees in the area. I don't know if they put firefighters at risk by setting the backfires. I just know the lightning was doing the part it did before land management became a thing, and God knew what he was doing. My dad, who worked with Fire Depts said fires before land management could burn areas the size of states and Indians couldn't blame white man for it.
