U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz speaks at a campaign stop in Johnston, Iowa, on Dec. 4, 2015. (Reuters) |
Jackson raved about Cruz's "authentic faith in Jesus Christ" and has committed to back him up in his quest for the White House.
"It is absolutely essential and urgent that we elect a godly President who reveres our Constitution, honours our Judeo-Christian values and respects the freedom of the American people. After eight years of 'fundamental transformation,' we need a leader who will dedicate himself to restoring the fundamentals of America. I urge every American, especially Christians, to elect Ted Cruz as the next President of the United States," Jackson said in a statement to Conservative HQ.
Jackson strongly believes that Cruz would work well with Christian ministries to help relieve America's inner cities of poverty and crime.
"Senator Cruz knows that 'central planning' by Washington elites will never match the ingenuity and effectiveness of free market capitalism working hand-in-hand with people of faith to restore cultural values and bring prosperity to the most needy people in our country," he further said.
Jackson stressed that America needs a president who is willing to end the "cycle of poverty, violence and despair in the inner city by marshalling the goodwill and resources of the private sector-churches, businesses, nonprofits and private schools."
He even went as far as comparing Cruz's faith in God to the ones expressed by former American leaders such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan.
"Faith in Jesus Christ has been central to his life, long before he ever ran for office. I have no doubt that he will defend our religious liberty, our Second Amendment rights and our right to be free from unlawful government intrusion and control. I urge fellow evangelicals in Iowa to go to the caucuses and vote for Cruz," said Jackson.
Prior to Jackson's endorsement, Cruz already won over Focus on the Family's Dr. James Dobson, who raved about the senator's political know-how and articulateness. Cruz also received the nod of the National Organization for Marriage which cited him for being a "proven champion" of marriage.
The “ Great Falling away “ as the Bible puts it seems to be happening with a certain “ Charismatic “ leader ( Trump ) who will tell people he has the solution to everything.
People are abandoning their convictions, values in order to win.
People in the end times will have more love for money and pleasures than for the love of God.
I got my flak jacket on, Jesus Christ.
Isaiah : 54:17
No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tounge that rises up against you in judgement you shall condemn, for this is the Heritage of the servants of the LORD and their righteousness is of me saith the LORD.
Why don’t you display the flag of the home state you come from?
No - and he ain't running away fro his responsibilities...
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
The Bible that I read says that a real Christian is defined as one who is forgiven - it is a "Gift" of God through Christ, as one realizes that they "fall short of the Glory of God" and are in need of a Savior.
I don't pretend to judge your faith - for, as a real Christian, I have not earned the first stone to throw.
This is apostasy in the church - as in falling away from true doctrines into heretical teachings, not a secular political activity.
Would gladly put up the Christian flag if I was able to copy and post it here.
Besides ? No one can’t help it the place, time and state they were born in, what’s the big issue about that ?
Many Freepers live in California.
Secular politics will pull many in falling away, it doesn’t have to be in a church or a religious environment.
It all starts with the heart.
Our devotion and loyalty belongs to Christ first, then to our family, then our country.
Amen!
Thank you for posting the Christian flag, if your part of the body of Christ ? That’s where we come from.
We are not of this world, but in this world as pilgrims.
The world will hate us because they first hated Christ first.
Think it not strange that they attacks us Christians and say all manner of evil about us, our crown awaits for us in heaven.
Putting on the full armor of God is putting on the awareness that we as Christians are under God’s full providences of his divine protections.
I am not ashamed of the Gosple of Jesus Christ.
Seems like FR goes through this every election. Then the FReepers get chummy again after the polls close.
Have You ever seen the poster called “ Peace “ with a sparrow laying peacefully sleeping while nestled in the clief or hollow of this huge rock while on the outside a full fledged storm in all it’s fury is raging ?
Christ is our rock, Christ is our shelter in the raging storm.
God uses the weak things of this world to bring down those things that are mighty.
God uses the simple things of this world to confound the wise.
Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
We are saved by faith through grace, and not of ourselves.
I would go farther on to say I believe the doctrine of predestination and of election.
I don’t think so this time around.
God is separating the goats from the sheep.
Separating those who are on the left and those who are on the right.
Drawling the lines in the sand.
There is coming a day when even saying the LORD’s prayer will be condemned here on Free Republic.
