Jackson raved about Cruz's "authentic faith in Jesus Christ" and has committed to back him up in his quest for the White House.
"It is absolutely essential and urgent that we elect a godly President who reveres our Constitution, honours our Judeo-Christian values and respects the freedom of the American people. After eight years of 'fundamental transformation,' we need a leader who will dedicate himself to restoring the fundamentals of America. I urge every American, especially Christians, to elect Ted Cruz as the next President of the United States," Jackson said in a statement to Conservative HQ.
Jackson strongly believes that Cruz would work well with Christian ministries to help relieve America's inner cities of poverty and crime.
"Senator Cruz knows that 'central planning' by Washington elites will never match the ingenuity and effectiveness of free market capitalism working hand-in-hand with people of faith to restore cultural values and bring prosperity to the most needy people in our country," he further said.
Jackson stressed that America needs a president who is willing to end the "cycle of poverty, violence and despair in the inner city by marshalling the goodwill and resources of the private sector-churches, businesses, nonprofits and private schools."
He even went as far as comparing Cruz's faith in God to the ones expressed by former American leaders such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan.
"Faith in Jesus Christ has been central to his life, long before he ever ran for office. I have no doubt that he will defend our religious liberty, our Second Amendment rights and our right to be free from unlawful government intrusion and control. I urge fellow evangelicals in Iowa to go to the caucuses and vote for Cruz," said Jackson.
Prior to Jackson's endorsement, Cruz already won over Focus on the Family's Dr. James Dobson, who raved about the senator's political know-how and articulateness. Cruz also received the nod of the National Organization for Marriage which cited him for being a "proven champion" of marriage.
“It is absolutely essential and urgent that we elect a godly President who reveres our Constitution, honours our Judeo-Christian values and respects the freedom of the American people.”
E.W. Jackson is definitely one of the good guys.
So Teddy is running for Pope?
Dang it! I was to late to post before the ‘Cruz = Another Jimmy Carter’ Trumpeter showed up.
And don’t forget to include W. He was a very pious president also.
yeah, wow.
God forbid we have a good Christian man in the WH!!
phew! that would be awful.
it’s HYSTERICAL that what so many here wanted in a candidate only a year ago, they now detest or disdain.
Another liberal who sneers at the need for a Godly president.
Trump’s the perfect fit for you.
The Trump fans are worried. By the time March gets here, they’re going to be damn near frantic.
And on this conservative site.
Such is the nature of a personality cult.
Sad.
well as a Cruz supporter I won’t be voting for Trump, but I’ve been told by several Trumpsters here that my vote isn’t needed since Trump’s win is going to be so dominating.
It'll be voting for the lesser of two evils...AGAIN, but America can't survive a President Hitlery.
They are worse than hormonal teenagers in heat over a Rock Star.
You’ll catch flak for that, but you’re right!
Same here. I don’t vote for liberals. I don’t care what party they are in.
When the general election comes, I’m voting for ABH. Or ABS. No hesitation.
In the primary? By the time Arizona gets to vote, I usually don’t have much say...unlike Iowa or New Hampshire, Arizona rarely gets to do much more than say “OK, I guess so...”
Thank you
They can bring all the flak they want
So pious that he supported killing innocent babies just because they were the products of rape.
