This is creepy on many fronts and hints at some serious issues with Cruz. I have no issue with a candidate affirming his religion and faith and belief in Jesus. Nor do I have any issue with a politician staunchly defending religous liberty. But for Cruz to compare in effect, his campaign rising up by using the “Body of Christ” is beyond troubling. It’s borderline sick. It’s either shameless pandering to the reliogious voters of Iowa or narcissism of the highest order.
It’s amazing anyone would fall for the reliogious act. How long has Cruz been in the public eye? Three years or so. Until he ran for president, was anyone aware of his steadfast Christianity? Don’t think so. Has he ever gone full on religion on the Senate floor? Has he ever invoked God or Christ in any of his speeches in the Senate? Don’t remember that. So if Ted wants to talk about energizing the body of Christ on the Presidential campaign trail, you’d think he might want to do that in the Senate chamber. Ted is a fraud through and through and another politician that will do or say anything to get elected.
Eh, I don’t see a problem with it. The people who have a problem with this have a problem with Christianity — they just don’t like the notion of a sovereign God, nor do they like the idea that man is in sin and needs forgiveness.
The people he’s trying to motivate are largely the 4 million people who stayed home and did NOT vote for Romney. Cruz may be exactly right about this.
You are anti-Cruz. Period. And your rant is - unreadable.
I see it as shameless pandering.
Senate speech vs campaign speech. PLUS this was to his volunteers. Was he speaking on the phone to you? I got the email but too late for the call. Are you afraid of us? Don’t be.
Fear not for I bring you tidings of great joy. There will be peace on earth because Jesus will rule the world. Of course all of His enemies are eliminated (they kill each other).
Now, as for Cruz, where did he give his first campaign speech? Did you watch? I did.
“Cruz launches campaign at world’s largest Christian college”
Statements like this strike me as an out and out pander to the evangelical crowd. It just seems like politician speech. Maybe I'm jaded by political stuff, but it just strikes me as weird.
My other ponders in the caucus are Rand and Trump, fwiw.
Both?
Another Trumpbott. Most likely you are a bitter Ron Paul failure and you are setting the stage to be a Trumpette failure. This cartoon was not done by Cruz but it certainly is appropriate and successful which is the reason you’re rattling your own cage. Typical of Progressives - you have no sense of humor. Obviously, you know nothing about the life of Ted Cruz because you have your head stuck up Trump’s ass. Take a bit of time to stifle your hatred of Christianity and a Christian man, Ted Cruz, long enough to really look in the mirror to see what an idiot you are.
Sorry, I have to disagree with you 100%. It is a call to action using language that his target audience understands, nothing more.
As for Sen Cruz talking about his faith before his presidential run:
In 2013, he told David Brody, a host at the Christian Broadcasting Network, that politicians have âa special obligation to avoid being a Pharisee, to avoid ostentatiously wrapping yourself in your faith. Because I think in politics, itâs too easy for that to become a crutch, for that to be politically useful.â
If you would take a moment to even look, you would find that Sen Cruz has been a godly man for a long time and that is exactly what this nation needs.
Reminds me of Obama fans who thought he was the 2nd coming. Both were 1st term senators who had done nothing but ‘lawyer’ in their lives and used tax $$ to run for office instead of doing the job they were elected to do. The big difference is we KNOW and can prove Cruz wasn’t born on US soil.
