LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A Florida family said their Christmas cruise took a horrifying turn, revealing the video and photos of a bloody mystery onboard the ship.
The family boarded the Carnival Ecstasy on Christmas Day for a spur-of-the-moment trip and told WFTX news the first two nights of their cruise were everything they thought it would be.
But they described the last night as a scene out of a horror movie.
Matt Davis and his wife Susan showed WFTX pictures and video of what looked to be blood pouring out of the top of the elevator as the doors were struggling to open and close. "To look and see the elevator with just blood coming down like a sheet, and not stopping... it was a real-life scene of 'The Shining'," Matt Davis said.

The reason Lock out tag out should be reviewed in safety regularly
“Cause [of death] is still under investigation”
Personally, I blame the elevator.
it sounds an electrician might have been in the shaft and got smashed by an elevator? Not sure. But it did not go well for the electrician who died.
That's an understatement. Good gosh.
Prayers for the family of Mr. Opazo. He made it to the age of 66, and was still working as an electrician, when ‘something happened’. Oftentimes, repairmen don’t make it obvious when they’re working on something. I believe this has occurred in the BART train systems of the San Francisco Bay Area. Over here, it’s common to be on a train and whizz past a group of repairmen off to the side in the long darkened tunnel.
This is the kind of thing that happens when maintenance “locks/tags out an electrical panel for access to dangerous areas, and some clueless puke comes along and says “what’s this lock?, this must be why the elevator isn’t working, I’ll just take it off”
Been there, seen that
Cruise to nowhere?
When traveling, beware of the Chinese elevators and escalators. Liveleak has several videos of those deadly contraptions.
That was the scariest trailer I can remember.
Nightmare.
Back in university I was riding the dorm elevator up to my floor. Late, no one else in the cab. Side egress door was loose and I popped it open. As the elevator was whooshing up I stuck my head out to take a look. Looked down the long dark shaft and saw nothing. Pulled my head back in and less than a second later an iron beam between the two shafts when zipping by.
I was less than a second from being decapitated.
This happened over 30-yrs ago and I still get the shivers over it.
“This is the kind of thing that happens when maintenance âlocks/tags out an electrical panel for access to dangerous areas, and some clueless puke comes along and says âwhatâs this lock?, this must be why the elevator isnât working, Iâll just take it offâ”
When you lock out/tag out a piece of equipment you are supposed to use a lock that no one else has a key for. No one can unlock the equipment but you.
Or "Silence of the Lambs".
The GOP-E immediately put out a fundraising letter about this and warning voters to not board any more Cruz ships . . .
Otis?
Badda bing, badda boom. Love it. And, the GOPe (cretins and associated dolts) probably will do exactly that.
Another tale of terror from a Carnival cruise ship-after all the news stories of sickness, bad food, malfunctioning and dirty bathrooms, passengers mysteriously falling from upper decks to their deaths, etc-why would anyone in their right mind get on a Carnival cruise ship-those are Klingon prison ships...
