Washington Post ^ | December 28, 2015 | Radley Balko

In April 2012, a Kansas SWAT team raided the home of Robert and Addie Harte, their 7-year-old daughter and their 13-year-old son. The couple, both former CIA analysts, awoke to pounding at the door. When Robert Harte answered, SWAT agents flooded the home. He was told to lie on the floor. When Addie Harte came out to see what was going on, she saw her husband on his stomach as SWAT cop stood over him with a gun.

Full title: Federal judge: Drinking tea, shopping at a gardening store is probable cause for a SWAT raid on your home

I'd almost say 'unbelievable', but it's just too believable these days.

That's the opening script to about a dozen popular movies.

They do the same thing with "drug sniffing" dogs.

They bring a dog up to your car and if it barks or wags it tail they say it "alerted" to drugs and they can take your car apart.

They shopped at a gardening store that sold hydroponics. They were there to get stuff for their daughter class project.

A cop outside was collecting license plates and got theirs. 7 months later they stormed the house looking for marijuana plants. Nothing was found.

Evidently they didn’t have any dogs to shoot.

Art reflects life, I guess. But this is absolutely despicable. It should not be tolerated in a FREE country.

Be very suspicious of the facts presented here. The author, Radley Balko, is a far-leftist radical paid pro-all drug legalization “writer” who has had materiel pulled from the TV networks due to lies.

He masquerades as a libertarian, but he really is a highly paid pro-drug mouthpiece.

There may be some truth to this story, but investigate it yourself. I wouldn’t be surprised if Balko’s paychecks were in Colombian Peso’s.

Cops can rely on a false positive test to bust you for drug use... even if you have never used illegal drugs.

Such mistakes are more common than people think.

Cops aren’t paid to think; they’re paid to make arrests, regardless of whether or not someone committed an actual crime.

That’s what happened in Kansas.

The damn judge and sheriff should be hanged from opposite ends of the same rope. These people should write a book about this and make money from the experience.

“While testing the specificity of the KN Reagent test kits with 42 non-marijuana substances, I observed that 70% of these tests rendered a false positive,” said Dr. Omar Bagasra, director of the Center for Biotechnology, who conducted the experiments.

Magic 8 balls might be cheaper than these test kits, and perhaps more accurate...
