.(for those that remember a certain Black politician from the great State of loozey-anna.Who I might add was vigorously defended by the then-Republican Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, of course we knew the reason, he had his own skeletons in the closet.

This schmuck could not figure out there were better places to hide your illegal money? We could probably have a good contest on this forum on how & where to stash cash.

Someone please explain how he embezzled all that cash. It looks like a drug dealer’s sock drawer. Ok, several sock drawers. Keeping it in a safety deposit box is down right stupid. Also, he could have saved some rental fees if he’d converted the $50s and $20s to larger bills. But what do I know.

Bury it in the back yard in the flower bed or under the dog house.
A home safe.
Under a floor board.
Out at his weekend home.
In a Swiss bank.
Launder it so it’s harder to trace.
Ease it into his normal spending with a new car here and a vacation there but nothing too flashy to draw attention.

I didn’t know it was possible to disgrace a politician—Particularly a DemocRAT one.

Only an idiot would think their cash is safe in a bank vault. It may not be the first place they look, but it’s the second.
To: bgill
I agree with the laundering. I would have endeavored to turn quite a bit of it into gold coins, platinum bars...something.

ah...part of the RAT playbook...Illinois Democrat SOS Paul Powell (65-70) makes this guy look like a piker.
Although he never made more than $30,000 a year, upon his death, shoeboxes, briefcases and strongboxes with more than $800,000 in cash were found in his hotel suite residence at the St. Nicholas Hotel in Springfield, Illinois.
In his hotel room he also had 49 cases of whiskey, 14 transistor radios, and two cases of creamed corn.
When settled in 1978 his estate was worth $4.6 million, of which $1 million was racetrack stock.
A federal investigation determined that Powell had acquired much of his wealth through illegal cash bribes, which he received for giving noncompetitive state contracts to political associates. The State of Illinois received a $222,999 settlement from his estate; in addition, several state contractors were imprisoned for their roles in the affair.

Reminds me of Paul Powell, Illinois Secretary of State and a Democrat, who never made more than $30,000 in that job. He died while in office in 1970, his death pre-empting bribery charges which were beginning to churn.
After his demise, almost a million bucks IN CASH was found stashed away in his hotel suite in the state capitol of Springfield.
Also found were 49 cases of whiskey, 14 transistor radios and two cases of creamed corn.

Look up criminal corruption *and* philosophical corruption in the dictionary and you'll see *MASSACHUSETTS*.

Why would they think the money was illegally obtained.
Most politicians are paid to do nothing .
Especially in Massachusetts they are all crooks.

Not a bad idea. A small liquor store would not be bad either.
