Who I might add was vigorously defended by the then-Republican Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, of course we knew the reason, he had his own skeletons in the closet.

This schmuck could not figure out there were better places to hide your illegal money? We could probably have a good contest on this forum on how & where to stash cash.

Reminds me of Paul Powell, Illinois Secretary of State and a Democrat, who never made more than $30,000 in that job. He died while in office in 1970, his death pre-empting bribery charges which were beginning to churn.

After his demise, almost a million bucks IN CASH was found stashed away in his hotel suite in the state capitol of Springfield.

Also found were 49 cases of whiskey, 14 transistor radios and two cases of creamed corn.
