We can in Georgia.

I spoke with a policeman shortly ago in Walmart and asked if he and his fellow officers like or dislike open carry by citizens and he said, considering the times we live in, it was probably a good idea to open carry. Let's criminals know you mean business.

Should people be allowed to exercise their 1st amendment in public?

A right, is a RIGHT!!!!!!!!

Back in the day, the 2nd meant a musket liberal weenies will say BUT.............. At the time, the 1st said you had the right to stand on a stump and speak as loudly as you wished.

Why should the 2nd be “CHANGED” but the 1st does not?

Notice how there’s one anti-gun choice, and the pro-gun votes are split among two choices.

Actually, Libs are trying to change the First Amendment, too.

That is what political correctness is intended to do. Slowly, slowly, they are changing the First Amendment through the use and disuse of words, etc.

Yes, I do. I can open carry in my state but the Liberal pantywaists have so brainwashed the public that doing so would cause waves of hysteria just about everywhere I could go and many stores and businesses have chosen to be sitting ducks for robbers and nut jobs by posting “gun free” signs.

Open carry would improve a lot of what’s gone awry in this nation. It’s true that, initially, there might be some wild west conflagrations and bullet riddled examples of stupidity. In a short time however, the general public would adopt a new set of rules of behavior and etiquette when dealing with each other.

I would also love to see real free speech brought back along with open carry. Free speech becomes more valued and respected when the consequences must be weighed carefully before engaging in it face to face. All this would be nothing new. I’m old enough to remember when running from law enforcement, finding a spouse in bed with someone else or calling someone’s mother a vulgar name would get you shot with few or any repercussions for the shooter.

I prefer to CC. Just not worth the trouble of constantly worrying that someone will try to snatch it.

Some one wrote this as a response in the articles comment section

the very notion of governments (local, state, or federal) "regulating" a militia is absolute lunacy on its face. Who would be doing the regulating? The very government the right was intended to hold in check? No. That stands in contravention to the very purpose of being able to assemble a militia of the people to stand in defense of their freedoms against their own government.

That is a VERY good point
