It is a sad day indeed for exclamation mark proponents — Jeb Bush is apparently dropping the high-energy punctuation mark from his brand.
According to Mother Jones, Bush trademarked "Jeb!" last winter under the name of BHAG LLC.

I read the title of the article and realized immediately the editor was ignorant. You can’t copyright a name!

“Jeb” isn’t a name, at least in this case. It is an acronym composed of the guy’s initials (John Ellis Bush).

So sad. Jeb! was designed to help him walk away from the Bush name. It forced people to focus on Jeb!, and nobody liked what they saw.
