If Trump Wins The Nomination, Prepare For The End Of The Conservative Party

If you look beyond Donald Trump’s comprehensive unpleasantness — is there a disagreeable human trait he does not have? — you might see this: He is a fundamentally sad figure. His compulsive boasting is evidence of insecurity. His unassuageable neediness suggests an aching hunger for others’ approval to ratify his self-admiration. His incessant announcements of his self-esteem indicate that he is not self-persuaded. Now, panting with a puppy’s insatiable eagerness to be petted, Trump has reveled in the approval of Vladimir Putin, murderer and war criminal.
Putin slyly stirred America’s politics by saying Trump is “very . . . talented,†adding that he welcomed Trump’s promise of “closer, deeper relations,†whatever that might mean, with Russia. Trump announced himself flattered to be “so nicely complimented†by a “highly respected†man: “When people call you brilliant, it’s always good.†When MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Putin “kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries,†Trump replied that “at least he’s a leader.†Besides, Trump breezily asserted, “I think our country does plenty of killing also.†Two days later, Trump, who rarely feigns judiciousness, said: “It has not been proven that he’s killed reporters.â€
Well. Perhaps the 56 journalists murdered were coincidental victims of amazingly random violence that the former KGB operative’s police state is powerless to stop. It has, however, been “proven,†perhaps even to Trump’s exacting standards, that Putin has dismembered Ukraine. (Counts one and two at the 1946 Nuremberg trials concerned conspiracy to wage, and waging, aggressive war.)
Until now, Trump’s ever-more-exotic effusions have had an almost numbing effect. Almost. But by his embrace of Putin, and by postulating a slanderous moral equivalence —

I have and remain a Cruz supporter for the past several years. (before that Palin) If Trump gets the delegates and is the Republican nominee I will vote for him. I fear the next step will be internecine warfare between Trump and Cruz. Atheist Will has been a long time snobbish RINO. If we are to have a chance to turn this huge bloated ship of state around we need a Cruz oar Trump! I will give Trump credit for shoving it to the “drive-by media” He has refused to be intimidated by these ideological lock-step liberal fascists and has turned the tables on them. Without Trump, I don’t think any conservative could be elected. Let’s keep it cool and remember Reagan’s 11th commandment. This is for all the marbles1 8 years of pathological socialist Hillary and we will exacerbate our descent into socialist oblivion!
George is on the same side of the fence as Rosie O’Donnell. If Trump wins it will mean the end of the progressive party. A party which has lost horribly at the state level. When they lose DC they are toast. Imagine a triumphant unabashed capitalist in the white house. Been over 25 years. And this time it could be a capitalist that has actually built part of the world.

The RINOs are a sorry, sad disgrace. They are no more ‘conservative’ than their buddies, the Democrats, yet they rush to cloak themselves in the conservative title. We all recognize this phony effort now to claim ownership of the conservative title when nothing could be further from the truth. The bottom line is they have run out of slack in the rope with their BS, lying, deception and it is now strangling them. What makes this so satisfying is the smart alecks have done it to themselves. It could not have happened to a more disgusting bunch of bums. Good riddance I say. All that remains is to write their obituary.

If the GOP was truly conservative, they would have begun to fight 0bama tooth and nail when they gained the House, and then the Senate.
Instead they sold out, rolled over, and went along to get along.
Whatever Trump's flaws might be, if he were to win, he would govern a thousand times more conservatively than the GOPe.
If George Will thinks there's any vestige of Conservatism left in the GOP national party, or its leadership, he is absolutely delusional.
Crony capitalism or socialism: take your pick. With establishment candidates, you'll get the worst of both worlds. Both national parties are totally submerged in it, and only an anti-establishment wave can begin to reverse it.
Whether it's Cruz or Trump hardly matters. The only thing that matters is that the establishment is bitch-slapped until they're bleeding from the mouth.
Hell, things are so ridiculously bad that even a "socialist" like Bernie Sanders would be an improvement over establishment candidates from either party.
But, since Bernie is not going to dethrone Queen Hillary, only the GOP can nominate an anti-establishment candidate...
