This is like a primary between U.S. and Russia.

Trump Cruz would be a winning ticket.

I think so. We’ll see if they can keep it classy. Hopefully they will do better than their promoters on this site.

I hope Trump picks Cruz as his VP. Trump is likely to one term it given his age.

Cruz without Trump’s money would get starved by the GOPe. They’d leave him hung out to dry.

Yes, they will battle over the moderates and whichever wins them over will be the nominee.

Trump has the upper hand with moderates now but Cruz is acceptable to them. He just needs to show them that.

Trump does not need to go to war with Cruz. He is too far ahead. Cruz may need to go to war with Trump and I don’t think that will work out well for him.

My personal belief at this point is that Cruz is hoping for VP.

I don’t think either one of these two have anything to gain by attacking each other. By now, people are mostly solid in who they support.

They should just keep smacking down the ankle biter GOPe goofballs and work on gaining support from those who haven’t made up their minds.

Cruz has support that is narrow but deep. Trump has support that is wide but shallow. Trump has more potential for growth.

I can’t see Cruz just conceding.
If he gets the moderates he will win the nomination.
If he does well with them but fails he will still be in a stronger position to negotiate.
It’s a win-win.

Yep, but this is just The Texas Tribune trying to stir up something that is not really there.

Thy have folks there that make Step-on-all-of-us seem normal.

My personal belief at this point is that Cruz is hoping for VP.

Trump does a one and done.

Then throws all his support to Cruz for two more terms.

That will give American Citizens time to groom a crop of real conservatives by primarying out all the GOPEs build the southern border wall, recover from the Unaffordable Dont Care Act, etc.

Yes and Yes. Few people consider Trump’s age as the reason for one term. And don’t think about the financial aspects either. If Trump does not win the primary, he’ll return to the private sector and play golf. Then all will be up to Cruz to take the gold ring. Quite frankly, I think we need Trump in the corner office to clean up the mess in Washington, the country, and the rest.

"We'll see if they can keep it classy."

The word, "classy" is unknown to Trump.

Cruz is a conservative. He is not getting the moderates Trump is. That is why Cruz is only polling at 11%-18% max. He’s not going to get the moderates because they think he is too conservative. That’s why Cruz will likely win Iowa and not one other primary.

Veep would work for Ted. He’s a young guy and in 4 years he’ll be really prime for the corner office when Trump packs up to play building skyscrapers and golf courses.

Doubly true...
But Cruz has not yet appealed to moderate voters to support him. He may have success doing so.
Moderates have seen 10 years of ‘progressivism’ fail and are open to considering conservative views.
Cruz may succeed in persuading them.
We’ll know in just a few months.
