UPDATE 9:00 PM ET: The Washington Post has officially yanked the cartoon down, un-publishing it late Tuesday evening after this Breitbart News story. After pulling the cartoon down, the post issued this statement from editor Fred Hiatt: "It's generally been the policy of our editorial section to leave children out of it. I failed to look at this cartoon before it was published. I understand why Ann thought an exception to the policy was warranted in this case, but I do not agree."

Good to see that response from Trump.
If he read FR yesterday, it was a suggestion from moi to join with Cruz in attacking the wapo.
Very classy of Trump.
This will be a long and ugly election. Be ready as the Dems, the Repub (e) and the Media fight losing power!
You should be ashamed! Parents may have affectionate names for their children but no one should do what the Post did!
Is anyone covering this besides Breitbart?
I have been thinking for quite awhile that this should be our primary argument against many of our political opponents.
As the president of the Urban Poverty Law Center, I have reserved my harshest rebuke to the cartoonist and the editor of the WP!
Legal action pending.
It was good of trump to do that, but as a strong trump supporter I want a lot more from him.
An few lines during his next rally denouncing the Editor and Cartoonist by name and calling them a common enemy that he and Cruz have would be a good start.
I think it may add a little to his surge. This will pull on the emotional heartstrings of many voters. As well, it will encourage other voters who were unaware of it to view the original SNL ad, and understand it in that context. And they may come into the Cruz camp.
In both cases, he could pick up some support.
I doubt he will lose many Republicans because he defended his children from attack.
No I did not leave off any tag. I remember being really surprised by those words and told my girlfriend he would regret the statement however lovingly he meant it.
I think the slippage in the latest national polls reflects last week's (what I consider to be) diversion with Rubio.
Why would I be ashamed? I am just relaying my fears that the MSM will hunt it up. If I can remember it, in this day and age, it will resurface as either video or audio.
BTW I am a contributor to Sen Cruz campaign and proudly have a Cruz 2016 bumper sticker on my car.
Yes, they will not go without a fight. And we have eleven more months of this to get through.
“Outnumbered” covered the story on Fox this am. Very strong negative comments by every one re the Compost!
I guess you’re implying the cartoon is somehow Cruz’s fault. Ridiculous.
Anyone who has had kids understands the difference between a parent’s nickname and a derogatory cartoon.
This ain’t my circus..and those ain’t my monkeys.
LOL! They have HIS ears!
Obama’s monkeys would set liberal media’s hair on fire...
