REBECCA KAPLAN December 22, 2015. Poll: Donald Trump Trails Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders In MatchUp
If the presidential election were held today, Republican candidate Donald Trump would lose to either of the two leading Democratic candidates, a new Quinnipiac poll found.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, would actually be more successful than Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton, leading Trump 51 percent to 38 percent. Clinton's lead is smaller: She would beat Trump 47 percent to 40 percent.
Trump still leads the 2016 GOP field with 28 percent support among Republicans nationwide, although Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is hot on his heels with 24 percent - within the plus or minus 4.4 percent margin of error among Republican respondents. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio comes in third, with 12 percent support, and former neurosurgeon Ben Carson nets 10 percent. No other Republican candidate gets more than 6 percent support, and 8 percent of respondents said they were undecided.

At the Trump rally.
The only one trailing Hillary is Bush!
My question to those holding the "Fighting for us" signs:
Fighting against whom? Obama?
Since the Election will not be “held today”, why waste the Keystrokes CBS?
They think Hillary is inevitable so they have their marching orders.
BS.
Sing it out, Sister!! Sing it out! :)
Oh boo hoo. Trump will win. These polls are BS.
Yes, also she is below 50%.
Trump would at MINIMUM destroy Bernie Sanders so mark this poll down as DNC bllcrp!
Trump and his supporters trumpet the polls when they show him winning. If they don't show him winning, they say you cannot trust the polls.
Trump's base is secure. Reaching beyond that base, even against Hillary, may not be possible. He's secured his base by blasting and insulting many people and groups, which proves that he's not PC. This approach worked well to obscure his own history of supporting Hillary and people like Hillary and being a crony capitalist. No one can confuse the former Democrat donor, former independent, and now Republican presidential candidate of being an ideologue. Far from it. He changes his beliefs to fit his needs. Now, he needs to be president. But success will require some votes from people outside the %30+ who support him now. As mercurial and ungrounded in principles as he is, he can flip on some positions to maybe pick up a little more support, but I still doubt that he's going to be able to break out beyond his fervent supporters. Trumps using the bludgeon when the rapier would have worked just as well has defined by his example. It's appeal has its limits. Trump is a pseudo conservative. It's possible too many of them will be turned off to vote for him, too.
sure.
Interesting thought line there, I never really thought about him just changing positions after getting rid of competition from his own party. Slip the the right, slip back to the left, as though the voting electorate is being lead by the nose... That is why Character matters (and you judge by past fruits).
Go Cruz Go...
I agree. Character matters. George Washington set a high standard. Bill Clinton demolished standards. Democrats, due to a higher level of partisanship and a general acceptance as a group with situational ethics as their guide, are far more willing to disregard character. We have no reason to do that on our side, and we should not. Some people get mad at me when I mention Trumps three marriages, but I believe that too is indicative of his character. He’s all too willing to break faith if it suits his purposes. Today, he feigns at being a true blue conservative. Yet, this whole approach - being a conservative - is very new to him.
We’ve also seen that many of Trumps attacks on Republican candidates come from the Left. He’s not well enough versed or committed to conservative views to attack from the right. He knows the attacks he’s read in the MSM, so he uses them. I truly believe he’s never read a book by a conservative writer, and he doesn’t really believe in limited government. He’s for government when it helps him with what he finds troubling, eminent domain, for example.
But, but, but...if Trump is the weakest candidate to face either Hillary or Bernie, wouldn’t you think they would support him, rather than attack him???????????

And ANOTHER useless poll. When oh when will it stop?
