None of his offenses against propriety seem to have dinged the support that, in a crowded race, keeps Donald Trump atop the GOP primary polls.
Republicans are now talking about a brokered convention, which could be a disaster for the country, and for the GOP, and quite possibly hand the election to Hillary Clinton without a real contest or even critique of her agenda.
So goes the fear. But unless we miss our guess, our long national nightmare-cum-sketch comedy show actually has a termination date. It will end the moment campaigning begins to threaten Mr. Trumpâs finances and business interests.

They’ve (the GOPe) lost, and they don’t even know it yet. What a bunch of maroons...
Not going to subscribe to read this drivel.
Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt
They will still be writing this schlock on Inauguration Day.
Another WSJ open-borders hack speaks....
And there are FReepers who staunchly declare that the media loves Trump.
‘Strange days indeed.
Most peculiar, momma.’
Oh dear, this is very concerning. Yes it is.
His wallet?
He hasn’t even opened it yet, just pocket change. He makes the feckless “media” give him free promo.

Oooo! Are the widow banksters at WSJ afwaid of The Donald?
*SMIRK*
BWHAHAHA!!!!
Oh Diana, TWO smirks and only 35 seconds apart!
It’s true, GMTA! :)
And he won’t have to spend much in the general either. Tens of millions of God-fearing, liberty-loving Americans will send in small donations of $20, $200, $2000, etc, to help Trump defeat the godless Marxist witch.
The Wall Street Journal, like Fox News, works for The Cheap Labor Express. Propganda to convince you to vote for their amnesty canidates.
Hah! Just read it, (thanks for the tip). What logic! Because Trump hasn’t had to spend much money to win means he won’t spend any money when he has to! Maybe he just doesn’t like to waste money? Wouldn’t that be a novel idea to introduce into government. IIRC his financials show his last tax year he had 200 million in income. So he can fund himself just from the income without touching any of his assets. Hard to believe a major paper pays people to write this stuff.
Trump isn’t a very deep thinker in relation to politics mainly because, unlike Reagan, he’s spent most of his life building a business empire. Getting so good at building a business that you become a billionaire is an all-consuming activity that leaves little time for reflection on other subjects. However, I expect Trump fully understood the nature of the financial commitment he undertook when he stepped into the political ring. If there’s one thing you can count on Trump to understand, it’s money matters.
This is the clueless bunch paying big bucks to buy those lame Jeb TV ads that wouldn’t convince his wife to vote for him. No one listens to the WSJ.
Holman W. Jenkins Jr. is an idiot!
Trump has spent slightly under $250,000 on his campaign since the summer and for a multi-billionaire, that’s chump change.
It grates on the Republican establishment that Trump knows how to run an effective campaign and they hate him for it.
They keep telling us he has a ceiling, he’ll go away and with the year nearly over, he’s still in it.
Jenkins et al. will never figure out what makes Trump tick.
