Trump’s Ceiling Is His Wallet (Another "Peak Trump" Article)
Wall Street Journal ^ | December 18, 2015 | HOLMAN W. JENKINS, JR

Posted on 12/19/2015 2:31:23 PM PST by PJ-Comix

None of his offenses against propriety seem to have dinged the support that, in a crowded race, keeps Donald Trump atop the GOP primary polls.

Republicans are now talking about a brokered convention, which could be a disaster for the country, and for the GOP, and quite possibly hand the election to Hillary Clinton without a real contest or even critique of her agenda.

So goes the fear. But unless we miss our guess, our long national nightmare-cum-sketch comedy show actually has a termination date. It will end the moment campaigning begins to threaten Mr. Trump’s finances and business interests.

Fox News is owned by News Corp. News Corp just recently (within the last year or so) purchased the Wall Street Journal. They are definitely on the same team. The GOPe uni-party open borders team.

It was thought TRUMP had spent very little on media propaganda. As to his business interests - that could be another story which has only been heard in bits and pieces. And the Dave Clark Five is heard in the background, singing.

Any more WSJ do-overs out there? They are skating on thin ice.

GO TRUMP
GO CRUZ
YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!

Today he highlighted how he took a multi million disaster of an attempt to build an ice rink over....1.8 million later it was repaired and working properly. Punch line of that story: why go find a contractor in Miami to build an ice rink, I went to Montreal and hired the guy who works for the Canadians. Yes, sometimes even I agree to find someone outside the country if it is the right person.

My opinion why they keep making these pronouncements: Now that Trump has proven EVERYBODY wrong so far, there’s no longer any real shame attached to making a wrong prediction, if there ever was. And these people get paid to produce column-inches of copy. Whether or not it’s meaningless psychobabble is immaterial. They need a paycheck.

The concept of Trump being willing and able to spend $1 Billion on the campaign, if necessary, has not sunk in yet. The best part is that he gets so much free publicity that what he’s spent and is spending currently is chump change.

If WSJ still stands for business acumen, they would be praising Trump’s 40 points poll numbers in a field of a dozen well known governors and senators, achieved so much by spending so little compared to Bush, Rubio & Cruz? Isn’t ROI (return on investment) life blood of WSJ and business world?

Let us not forget, WSJ is another front for the cheap labor express. What is the last time WSJ editors ever criticized 11-30 million illegals, cheap foreign workers on H1-B visa’s, TPP, rich donors controlling republican candidates?

I am really beginning to believe this is a movement. The elites have been finally exposed by a candidate who does NOT depend on rich donors. Even I was fooled by the professional politicians who claim to be real conservatives for so long. And I consider myself well informed on politics, and have a masters degree from a big 10 university.

Thank you Mr. Trump for exposing the phony professional politicians.

Trump has spent slightly under $250,000 on his campaign since the summer and for a multi-billionaire, that’s chump change.

IIRC, he has outright stated that he’d spend more than that ($1B). But he hasn’t had to spend squat of his own money. Why? Despite never asking for donations, millions of regular people have given him $10, $20, or $100 (and in between). Also, he has run a VERY efficient campaign.

Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if our fedgov was close to as efficient as Trump’s campaign? Or even within 100x of such efficiency?!

Compare and contrast with the GOPe candidates’ wasteful burn rate.

Exception: Cruz has been efficient with his spending, too. But he’s not GOPe, so that’s no real shock.

This article is dehydrated rock hard stupid.

PS Good comment, just adding to what you said.

Right. I’m with you. Why would anyone subscribe to one of those rags? I suppose it’s because the rag prints the kind of stuff they choose to read.

I read this garbage in this morning’s WSJ. I have fast lost a great deal of respect for the WSJ.

So many of the opinion writers are in the tank for the GOPe and they hate Trump with a passion.

Holman Jenkins, among others, seems to be very incensed that Trump has not spent 10’s of Millions on his campaign so far compared to all the others. In another time that would admirable and we would admire someone Frugal and Smart with his money and be in awe that someone running a major presidential campaign could do so on such a modest amount of money. Not these inside Elites, they resent and hate Trump for being able to leverage his celebrity and clout to pull this off.

They bought the WSJ about 5 years ago and grossly overpaid, somewhere around $5 Billion.

Right. When I wrote that reply I intended to mention that Trump SAID he’s prepared to spend a billion on it, because it’s THAT important that our Country be rescued; but it slipped my little 6 volt mind. Thanks for mentioning that.

The thing about it is, is that you can’t take a single penny of it with you, and what fun is it to give it away, really? So, for a guy like Trump, why not use your money to buy yourself the ultimate possession, namely the Presidency of the United States? It makes total sense to me. After all, how many planes and ponies does one billionaire really need?
