Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has a 14-point lead over his closest 2016 GOP rivals in the early state of New Hampshire, according to a new poll that also showed a bit of reshuffling among the rest of the pack.

Mr. Trump was at 26 percent in the Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll taken from Dec. 13-17, followed by Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida and Ted Cruz of Texas at 12 percent apiece.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was at 11 percent, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 10 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 8 percent.

Mr. Christie has picked up 8 points of support since a Herald/FPU poll on New Hampshire released in October, which had Mr. Trump in first at 28 percent. Mr. Rubio’s support has increased 6 points since then and Mr. Cruz’s support has increased 7 points.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who had been in second place at 16 percent in October, dropped to 5 percent support ..

For Cruzadors, there's some good news in the poll (to the extent you credit current polling):

Among those who are following the primary "very closely", the numbers are Tr 26 Cruz 18 Rub 11.

Among the "very conservative"- it's Cruz 29 Trump 27---

Cruz was not supposed to be competitive in NH, but the conservative lane is all his.

Still amazing to me-- Rubio seems to have the best favorability of all candidates- inexplicable to me.

Keep in mind that N.H. is in the heart of communist/islamist occupied New England. The state will be flooded with leftists and their allies to derail Trump or Cruz by switching to vote in the GOP primary.

Operation Chaos from the scum to just gum up the works.

Unless N.H. voting overseers intervene, the results of the N.H. primary could indeed be meaningless.

A vast swath of N.H. is now occupied by enemy forces and their allies in VT and MA who will break like water upon rocks to upset the apple cart.

It's in their plans and their playbook. Extra vigilance is in order for this primary election season.

Rubio passes the eye test for passers-by. He’s a good talker, likable, attractive. A lot of voters do not follow the issues or understand how much he lied during the immigration fiasco. Their goal is to muddy the waters on that issue so the passers-by don’t factor it in to their decision.

With these numbers Trump will be suspending his campaign any day now.

After the TREASONOUS behavior in congress over the budget Trump’s standing should go up another 10 points.

If Cruz beats Rubio in NH where Cruz is not supposed to do well, especially if Cruz wins Iowa, then Rubio might as well hang up his boots

Simple. The Lamestream media as well as Fox News and the Wall Street Journal love Rubio. They have essentially been campaigning for him non-stop since before he even declared he was running and present him in the best light possible.Meanwhile, they attack Ted Cruz non-stop and still Cruz is beating Rubio in the polls.

Let me state this first to pre-empt any “You aren’t being realistic!”, I would rather Cruz be in first place than Trump. I would rather Cruz be within a few points of Trump than down by a significant margin.

That being said, if Cruz is in second (even tied for second) in New Hampshire, it makes me very happy.

First, he will be in the top two in Iowa. I think, because of the way caucuses work, he will actually win Iowa by 5 to 6 points. But, we will see.

Second, in New Hampshire, a State that does not have the numbers in terms of the voters he is actively pursuing, he was expected not to win, place or show. A fourth place finish would have met expectations.

It appears as if the Cruz v. Rubio match-up that was the consensus a couple of weeks ago is falling apart. I really think this will become a Trump v. Anyone game, and I am glad that it will be Cruz to take the place of Anyone.

I don’t say this because I hate Trump or see a need to “take out” Trump, but I really like Cruz and think he would be the best choice for President.

If Trump and Cruz can stay away from the fighting that mars GOP primary seasons so much, then whoever wins can accept the enthusiastic support of the other and we can go into the general election with a candidate that doesn’t have gaping wounds on him that were caused by the primary.

It would also drive the media crazy!

So as a supporter of Cruz, I have to say that this is a very good poll indeed, both for Trump and Cruz. Rubio should see some problems here, because time is now a serious factor. He has 6 days to build up momentum, and then the campaign season gets frozen for about 8 days. That doesn’t give him a lot of time to gain traction if he isn’t already building his support.

The sooner that the despicable Rubio is crushed, the better. Following the implosion of Bush, Rubio represented the “RELEASE THE KRAKEN” moment for the GOPe. With Rubio out of the way, there would only be a “Hail, Mary” possibility for the GOPe in Crispie Cream.

He’s stuck. Bush, Kasich, and Cristie are still competitive in the Rino lane in NH-— and if Rubio even tries to move an inch to the right, Cruz is standing there will a baseball bat.

If the gope came down to crispy creme as their salvation, the suicide rate in DC would skyrocket.

Karl Rove would gain another 50 pounds, Dick Morris would be brought back to FOX and megyn kelly would be found dead, bleeding from all of her orifices.

I, on the other hand, would be sipping 12 year old scotch, smoken' a $ 50 cigar {I haven't smoked in years} and having wild sex with a young hooker {OK, which one of those isn't going to happen}, while I laughed hysterically.

They, GOPe, will double down and go after Cruz even harder. They have to kill Cruz to clear the field for the political, personal and moral assassination of Trump. It will be no holds barred knife fight in a phone booth because they know if they lose to him their hold on the party is finished.
