Every few generations a political party has to define itself. Now is that moment for the Republican Party. Until recently the GOP has been seen in Washington as the "party of no." Now it is being defined as the party of extreme. While the U.S. may be yearning for definitive leadership from a president, the use of hate and fear tactics by so many of the GOP presidential candidates is not the answer.

“Leading Republican moderate Christine Todd Whitman emerges in this forceful book as a voice for her partyâs disenfranchisedâthose she calls “radical moderates”âand an ardent, thoughtful opponent of the GOPâs kowtowing to far-right “social fundamentalists.” In addition to offering a behind-the-scenes look at her own experience as New Jersey governor, and as a Bush administration insider, she calls upon Republicansâindeed, all Americansâto oppose the far rightâs “bullying” and to reestablish the centrist dialogue that has all but vanished in recent years.”
She’s a Bushbot moderate..

The heavenly trump city on the hill
Not after that budget deal, sweetie. The people we voted for just gave Obama a full tank of gas, without getting anything in return.
This pos vetoed a law abaning partial birth abortion after promising she would not to fool enough Americans to win election..
Doc says, “Strawberries, ball bearings, stat!”
They, the Dems and GOPe, move further and further left. We remain solid but the further left they go, from their perspective, we look more and more extreme.
But it’s not us that’s changed. It’s them. So when someone comes along and represents many of our views (build the wall, for example) to them, it sounds extreme.
This does not excuse their behavior, just helps explain it.

Exactly right. Excellent comment!
Man, they’re getting desperate. I thought Whitman had been buried long ago never to be heard from again.
The fear in the GOPe is palpable.
LOL! She sounds like one of those “I own a gun” second amendment folks who want more restrictions on “hunters” and “target shooters”. But she supports your rights. Kinda. When I read the header I thought gopE again.
Both sides fear him. They are afraid he will dismantle the status quo and their comfortable cronyism. They view him as a threat to their power and that’s exactly what we need.
Excellent observation.
“I think Christine Todd Whitman and other Republicans will support Hillary Clinton in the presidential elections.”
Agreed, and so will the RINOs. Social issues, i.e., gay rights, abortion, have been used for decades as a smokescreen to deflect the voters from realizing both parties are in accord on the important issues hidden from view by the government media.
Neither the GOP nor the Democrats bother to hide their disdain for American citizens.
I’m not a Trump supporter. I think he’s “full of sound and fury signifying nothing.” But the choice of those in power and it is their choice, not yours that matters, will signal a continuation of policies designed to harmonize America with the rest of the world at our expense.
Why bother with citizens when subjects will do?
...why? So we can lose her state of NJ by only 18 points instead of 20?
It IS her party too.....if you’re talking the Dem Party.
âLeading Republican moderate Christine Todd Whitman. . ..”
I love how the left uses words.

Wake up fool! (Whitman, not you detective)
Any attempt by the party to do so in defiance of the base will be the end of the GOP.
Party of “no” my ass ... it’s the party of knee pads.
