Trump said in the interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace that he was "sorry" to the Republican leaders.
"Look, I understand what they're going through. I wasn't supposed to be here. I was a member of the establishment seven months ago," Trump said. "Iâm not supposed to be doing this. You see Iâm supposed to be on the other side writing checks and having people do whatever I want, puppets, like puppets."
Wallace asked Trump what his response was to the GOP officials.
"I say, folks, you know, Iâm sorry I did this to you, but you've got to get used to it," Trump said. "It's one of those little problems in life."

Proof...?
Proof of what?
“dished big bucks to his Democratic cronies....” since his entrance into the race.
The distance between a populist to an authoritarian is very, very short.
I guess it’s good that he’s running then if he’s stopped giving money to Democrats now.
Perhaps. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry was re-elected repeatedly as a populist who took conservative positions. If he had been in Massachusetts, I doubt his stances on the issues would have been different than Mittens Romney.
Some populists may have authoritarian leanings but not all populists are authoritarian.
An example of an American populist none would describe as authoritarian is William Jennings Bryan. If anything, he was a religious pacifist and a democrat in the small "D" sense of the word.
And, he, too was a mountebank.
