According to the latest Des Moines Register Poll, (full pdf below) of 400 Republican caucus goers, candidate Ted Cruz has surged into the lead with 31% support - a gain of 21 points since DMR's previous polling:

I agree with you about Cruz. Three things decided it for me.
The first was the whole thing about McConnell lying to him. If he was suckered by McConnell, even when his staff was telling him McConnell was lying, I question his discernment. If Cruz was using the lie as an excuse to claim innocence on a vote he really wanted but was afraid to stand by; it is even worse.
The second is his vote on TPA. He can give any excuse he wants but I am not buying it. He even argued with Sessions about it and said Sessions did not understand the bill. Sessions is about the only senator I trust.
Third, In May, Cruz said he had just found out about the H-1B abuse. This doesn’t pass the smell test because we, here on FR, were discussing it in February and I would think a sitting senator would be privy to more information than we have. Were his constituents, or those of his colleagues, not calling and complaining about it?
I agree with you that he is trying to ride his conservative credentials into the white house while actually voting to help the globalist cause.
He has become “me too Ted” with Trump’s ideas so I don’t buy them. He has been in office and has had a political platform to state these things for months but only does it when he sees how it is working for Trump.

Supports a single-payer health care plan instead of the current law

I agree with all of your points, Amntn....those are the things that turned me away from Cruz, as well.
The amnesty affiliated SuperPACs/donors were my final straw.
Not to mention the Beck/Barton connection (Beck BFF Barton manages Cruz’s PACs and looney tunes Beck’s MercuryOne).

Not sure...but, I do remember thinking....like MANY others, here....don’t go to the border and hand out teddy bears to ILLEGALS....with Bonkers Beck.
