Slate is looking for a fight between Cruz and Trump. Too bad so many on this sight love to pit on against the other.

Cruz is demonstrating a skill a president must have: avoiding a confrontation for a larger goal.

The same can be said of Trump when it comes to his relationship to Cruz.

It will not be a nasty slugfest. It will be substantive.

And I would put money on that.

A showdown is counterproductive and would do the nation a dis-service.

I am looking for more of a merger!

You have been posting for days now bashing Trump. I asked you on another thread one very honest question, but you didn’t answer. So I will ask again.

Why do you do it? Serious question.

Be great if Ted and Donald play this against the media together.
Build up a ‘prize match’ for the debate and then act all lovey-dovey.

Not likely but I’d sure love for the media to be hoisted by their own petard.

I would be thrilled to have a Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz ticket. I admire and respect both men.

Tweek vs. Craig

For those unfamiliar, the above is the name of a South Park episode where the boys manipulate Tweek and Craig to get them to fight.

Slate’s John Dickerson should spend some time figuring out how Hillary was so enthralling she commanded millions of dollars for speeches in the ME and Africa - but can’t pull in a two hundred people when the ‘speeches’ are free.

It’s a mystery to us dumb conservatives in flyover - and we know our betters - the elites of Slate - elites like John Dickerson can explain it to us... you know, explain it to the rubes.

The time of choosing is now.

The support and zeal for some of the Donald Trump supporters are in question when ?

By their own admission and words say and make claims that Ted Cruz is your 2nd choice back up saving face plan are having doubts about Trump.

You might say ? “ how so “

By saying and claiming that Ted Cruz is your back up 2nd choice you are having your own personal doubts about Trump.

If you guys are so sure and convinced that Donald Trump won’t fade, that Donald Trump won’t fail to get the nomination, why then ?

Why even bother to have Ted Cruz as your back up 2nd choice if Trump stays in the GOP party ?

Why bother ?

Unless you are having your own doubts about Trump securing the nomination.

Is Ted CRUZ your back up saving face insurance policy just in case Trump does not get the nomination ? Just in case Trump does fade ?

So why then ?

Do the Trump supporters bash and condemn any voice other than Trump supporters who say that Trump might fail, Trump might fade, Trump might not get the nomination when you are having your own doubts about Trump by making Ted CRUZ your 2nd choice ?

Something to consider.

Some of Trump’s supporters support and zeal is in question.

Think about it.

By March Cruz will drop out and endorse Trump. I wonder how some of the more rabid “Cruz or Lose” crowd here will take that?

Im voting Trump his position on illegals is clear. Ted hands out teddy bears to illegals at the border with Glen Beck. That was my nail. I would vote for him if Trump is gone but we need a non-PC alpha candidate to steamroll everything.

Writers at Slate salivate just thinking about it. We’ll see whether or not the candidates give them what they want.

I see a 3-way race, Cruz, Trump and Rubio. You know the supporters of Bush, Kasich, Christie and the rest of the “Little Candidates” are not going to go to Trump, and few will go to Cruz. Carson’s supporters are a little hard to gauge, though I would guess Rubio will get most of them, a lot of people went to Carson because they like the softer voice. Rubio has a pretty big upside still available to him.

It will come down to which of the three is best organized in the delegate hunt aspect of the game.
