Slate is looking for a fight between Cruz and Trump. Too bad so many on this sight love to pit on against the other.
That is what happens in a campaign. Trump has started to go after Cruz. Cruz has to differentiate himself from Trump. If that is a fight, then "Let's get ready to Ruuuuumble."
There won’t be a fight.
....actually, those of us who bothered to read the article know this is NOT the point of the piece. In fact, it lays out why it won't happen.
RE that and your tagline:
Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are IN COMPETITION WITH EACH OTHER.
They are pitted against each other in pursuit of something they both want, but only one can end up with: the Republican nomination.
We may wish we could have a little of each, or both, but reality is that we ONLY GET TO CHOOSE ONE.
One of them, Donald Trump, looks good at first blush but on examination proves to be extremely flawed and risky; Trump promises to be tomorrow what he was very opposite of being yesterday.
The other one, Ted Cruz, has a history of being yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, what he promises to be tomorrow.
They are very different from each other, they are competing with each other for the same office, and I will continue to show people how very much they ARE pitted against each other, let people know that it's OKAY to "pit them against each other," and how important it is that YOU and every other Republican choose one side or the other SOON.
