Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina praised a pregnant teenager for choosing life Monday after they watched the teenâs unborn babyâs heartbeat on an ultrasound screen.
âYou are a brave girl,â Fiorina told 17-year-old Jade Kennedy during a tour of a pro-life pregnancy center in Iowa. âYou made the right choice, you know that, right? I can see in your eyes that you are excited for this. Good for you.â
Fiorina met Kennedy Monday at the Cradle of Hope Pregnancy Resource Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, according to The Des Moines Register. The pro-life candidate watched as the young woman saw the image of her unborn baby on the ultrasound screen, the report states.
âWow,â Kennedy said. âThat heart beating, that flickering is the coolest part.â
Peggy Knudsen, the executive director of the pro-life center, told the newspaper that Fiorinaâs visit was important because she is a good role model for their clients.

âShe shows these women that if you have a goal, you can achieve it,â Knudsen said. âNo matter what you can still achieve. Even with a baby on your hip you can still achieve anything you put your mind to.â
Earlier that day, Fiorina told a small crowd in Iowa why she advocates so strongly for life, according to the newspaper. Fiorina said when she was in college, her best friend had an abortion at Planned Parenthood.
âI remember they gave her no options,â Fiorina said. âAnd I remember what it did to her physically and emotionally. It was devastating. She was never the same.â
Fiorina has been very vocal about her opposition to abortion and the nationâs largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. In October, she said the scandal of Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies and their body parts is so perverse that its president, Cecile Richards, should resign.
Fiorina also drew national attention in the September Republican presidential debate for her comments about the scandal.
âI dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes,â Fiorina said, referencing the 11 undercover videos that showed how Planned Parenthood sells aborted babies and their body parts.
After the recent shooting around a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood abortion facility, Fiorina also called out the press for wrongly blaming pro-lifers for the violence.
âThis is so typical of the left, to immediately begin demonizing the messenger because they donât agree with the message,â Fiorina said on âFox News Sunday.â
âWhat I would say to anyone who would try to link this terrible tragedy to anyone who opposes abortion or the sale of body parts, is this is typical, left-wing tactics,â she added.
Yes, if she could only do for the U. S. what she did for H.P., why we’d be 150 million people and have no territory west of Texas.
Mmm, NOPE!

This is the only thing that really bothers me about the "Pro-Life Movement": the dual message of "motherhood is heroic" and "motherhood isn't enough for a woman".
I think this puts Carley in the running for Trump’s HHS secretary. I like Carley as a secretary!!
No matter if Fiorina is smart on a given issue, when being interviewed she can come off as snarky and crude. Like today on Hewitt when she insulted Trump supporters and Carson supporters.
She’ll have come full circle, wouldn’t she?
I think that she is showing that she would make a great VP candidate.
I dont see her getting the nomination.
She’s a gender warrior in sheep’s clothing; I’d never vote for her.
Carly who?
She was a secretary to begin with.
