How Ted Cruz, Donald Trump are trying to dominate Iowa
CNN ^

heir sometimes divergent paths could be seen in the polls. Trump has 33% percent support among likely Republican caucus-goers, with Cruz at 20%, according to Monday's CNN/ORC poll. But a Monmouth University survey that relied only on registered voter rolls has Cruz with the lead: 24% to 19%.

The difference between the polls, Trump State Director Chuck Laudner told CNN, is because the campaign is bringing new voters into the process. Many of their supporters are first-time caucus-goers who aren't necessarily polled. The challenge, of course, is to make sure those would-be voters show up on February 1.

"They can't find our voters. It's always been the case. They can't find these voters, and you know, that brings up the question, are they really going to vote? Okay, that's our burden. But if they can give up three hours on a Saturday afternoon, I think we can get them to give up 45 minutes on a Monday night," Laudner said.

And you can bet your booties that The Trump squad will be picking up and driving everyone back and forth and giving them bottles of water and snacks. Whatever it takes.

Why is it they keep trying to lump Cruz in on Trumps coat tails?

It appears they are dominating and not “trying to.”

“trying to dominate”

Not winning voters.

Not gathering support

but “trying” to “dominate”

Nope. No bias there at CNN

That would literally cost tens of millions of dollars and require more staff than all the candidates have in Iowa, combined.

Trying? Hello!!!

I know, right? If the article were about Hillary, it would be "Mrs. Clinton is working hard, tireless in catering to her base, exceeding all expectations as she spreads her warm political embrace in every town and hamlet."

It's going to be fun. Both Trump and Cruz are going all out in Iowa.

Best case scenario would be for both Trump and Cruz to split the state, completely freezing out the GOPe candidates. Imagine Tippy Toes and Rubio coming out of this with absolutely nothing.

This has come down to the MSM, Democrat and Republican establishment hacks all trying a brute force attack to decrypt and destroy Trump.

They figure the rewards for being the one to do it will be huge. Megyn Kelly took her shot and suffered for it.

They are all running their little pathetic spit ball programs like Bobo trying to find bigfoot.

Trump supporters, look on with laughter, and their affection for Trump grows with every lie told by his opponents and I do mean flat out reprehensible lies. e.g. Trump hates all imigrants.

Trump tells us what is in his heart and even some here can see that as a virtue they want to draw you into the “what about the specifics” BS. ...which was vanquished with Trump’s position papers. ...which they haven’t read.

I don’t think so. There were only 121,503 republican voters in the 2012 caucus. So say 61,000 and you are a winner. 99 precincts. You offer free transportation to anybody who needs it. Using rental vehicles for one night for a few hours it would actually not be that much. I’m betting they will be going to senior centers etc and driving people back and forth all night.

“Driving people back and forth all night?” A caucus is like a mini convention. You show up at a certain time, discuss issues and rules and try to get others to vote for your candidate and you’re there for hours. It’s not like voting in a primary and going home right after that.

They usually take 2-3 hours. So its no big deal. You drop them off and then pick them back up few hours later. Limo services do it every day. If you were Trump would you spend 300 hundred grand or so to win the Iowa Caucus? Sure you would. I’ll bet that’s exactly what they do too.

It will not be an even split; Trump will dominate, however I totally agree with your saying that between Trump and Cruz, they will both completely freeze out the GOPe candidates, and it will bring joy to my heart when they do so. In particular, I want Tippy Toes to die on the caucus vine. I want him to get next to zip from the caucus vote. Zippola.
