The liberal media and Republican party elites erupted today after Donald Trump announced his plan to ban Muslim immigrants from the US until the government can assure it is safe to do so.
But Democrat Jimmy Carter did the same thing, and much more during the Iranian hostage crisis.
During the Iranian hostage crisis, Carter issued a number of orders to put pressure on Iran. Among these, Iranians were banned from entering the United States unless they oppose the Shiite Islamist regime or had a medical emergency. Hereâs Jimmy âHitlerâ Carter saying it back in 1980:
"Fourth, the Secretary of Treasury [State] and the Attorney General will invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly."

He did something right.
All I know is that after the Shah was deposed, Iranians inundated the campus of my Alma Mater. Almost overnight they seemed to buy up about half the businesses that catered to students on the commercial streets near campus.
If this happened at my school, it must have happened at pretty much every college in the country.
And Hillary proposed an immigration database in November of 2007.

The ambassador from Tripoli tells John Adams and Thomas Jefferson that the Barbary States have a religious duty to wage war on non-Muslim nations.
Dec. 8, 2015
From a March 28, 1786, letter written by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, who were American diplomats at the time, to U.S. Secretary of Foreign Affairs John Jay reporting on their conversation in London with the ambassador from Tripoli regarding piracy by the Barbary States:
We took the liberty to make some enquiries concerning the ground of their pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation.
The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the laws of their Prophet; that it was written in their Koran; that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners; that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners; and that every Mussulman [Muslim] who was slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.

Does this make Jimmy Carter a “right wing extremist” in the eyes of his supporters?
He also froze bank accounts and assets of any and all Iranians living in the U.S.
They tend to call themselves "Persians" in the USA to distinguish themselves from "Iranians". They also like to wear loud colored clothing, moussed up their hair and cover themselves with plenty of perfume and or cologne.
I remember an incident that happened in one of my college classes in the early 80’s. I was sitting behind a couple of Iranian students when one of them dropped a book....a picture of the ayatollah flew out of it. I couldn’t believe it. Several of us discussed why in the world we would educate these folks when they had held our folks hostage for so long.

This is the real description of Obama & the bulk of his administration.
All of our problems are far from over. Buck up, people. It’s not going to be easy to defeat these people.
There ere as few Iranian students at a community college in my town. One, named Shaheed ( we called him another version of that word)was stranded, not sent back. He hung out at Sambo’s and was out of money, out of luck.
Then there was a Mel Torme concert in our town and Shaheed wound up being picked up by a elderly lady who came to dine at Sambo’s after the show., and we never saw him again.
At Randolph-Macon College in a small town in Virginia, we students were asked to remain quiet about a pair of Iranian brothers attending the school. For their safety. This was in 1979/80. One was a screw-up. I remember him playing Allman Brothers music very loudly. I believe it was not a Presidential directive which booted him from school.
I’ve been looking for a video of Carter’s speech on this. Anyone seen any?
Carter used the law enacted in 1952 by Congress and signed by Truman, and ignored by Obama.
All the mediot fools are unknowingly backing Obamaâs refusal to use his existing Constitutional power to shut down muslim aliens entering the country until they can be properly vetted. This will surge Trump again in the polls.
Per existing federal law at 8 USC 1182:
Whenever, the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to appropriate.
Current laws banning admission to the US, and not requiring new laws. Just need someone like Trump to have them enforced:
