France's far-right National Front (FN) appears to have made big gains in the first round of regional elections, estimates show.
They put the FN ahead in at least six of 13 regions in mainland France.
The elections are the first electoral test since last month's Paris attacks, in which 130 people were killed. The centre-right Republicans party led by former President Nicolas Sarkozy appeared to be in second place ahead of the governing Socialist Party.

As one who watches their newscasts regularly one of the most disgusting aspects of their reports is the ease with which they use the term “far-right”.

Financial Times has: "An early official count suggested the FN was ahead in six of the country's 13 regions. Projections suggest the result, if confirmed, could be sufficient to win up to four regions in the second round on Sunday"

I haven’t kept up with the French political parties. However aren’t all politics in France leaning socialist? So now a nationalist segment of the socialist party is winning? I am not cleaning That mess up and neither are my kids.

Franch is going right—soon to be followed by England and Germany and Italy. Even Sweden will move right. Thank you Mr. Obama.

Yahoo news reports "Marine Le Pen's party secured 30.2 percent of the vote nationally, the interior ministry said, with two thirds of the votes counted. The FN came first in six regions out of 13, the ministry said."

This is awesome. Go “far-right”!
I guess the French populace wasn’t overly impressed with the ‘climate change causes terrorism’ argument of Barky and his friends.

From
The Comment a few minutes ago:
The traditional mainstream parties - the Socialists of French President François Hollande and the Republicans of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy - are debating whether to join forces against a National Front victor in the second round, urging their members to support whichever candidate from their parties makes it to the runoff.
Sounds a lot like the Dems and GOPe versus Trump. Gotta stop the "non-insiders" from getting in.

The final results from France 24 are:
FN 30.6%
Nicolas Sarkozyâs Les Républicains (formerly UMP), 27 %,
PS Socialist Party 22.7 %
The runoff is next Sunday.
The results in the region Paris ILE de France are:
LR UMP 30%
