On December 3 Politico reported that while Obama is pushing for more gun laws when the cameras are rolling, behind the scenes aides say he has "essentially given up on any significant gun control."
They reported a similar situation among some of the most prominent gun control groups - a situation in which they are pushing gun control publicly while "leaders of the groups grumble" privately because the White House seems to be all talk, no action on gun control.
According to Politico, "Aides say he's essentially given up on any significant gun control passing during his presidency."
The aides stressed that the number of pro-gun members in Congress has only grown since the first big push for gun control following Sandy Hook. Because of this, the White House has "no strategy for dealing with Congress that leads to significantly tighter gun laws."

Time is running short on his top agenda item, preparing the enemy country of the USA, for more islamic inroads in the future. Gun confiscation would be a big help to that end.
Not a trick so much as a tactic. Obama has his mouthpiece Salon run a story saying how discouraged he is and that he can’t get the gun control he wants and that he is giving up. The rabid sycophants on the left get their panties in a wad and make a bunch of noise for one of their favored topics and then, with the rabid left featured on all the news outlets demanding gun control, Obama can say it is the will of the people and executive order his way around it.
Bet this little speech today will include “Since the Congress and States have refused to strengthen the guns laws, I, as CIC, have signed a Presidential Order this morning, to effectively do the job which Congress has refused to do. It includes mandatory checks at all gun shows...etc etc...
The Liberals are falling all over themselves to say something more radial than all the others about gun control. Mark O’Malley, the ex-Governor of Maryland and Presidential candidate says that he intends to execute gun confiscation through executive order. The New York Times advocate the same on a front page editorial. Obama huffs and puffs about using executive orders to limit private sales of firearms despite clear language in the law that says he can’t do so.
Meanwhile, people are streaming into gun shops to exercise their civil right in the face of an Administration determined to import more Middle Eastern refugees certain to include in their ranks terrorists ready to repeat another San Bernadino style massacre.
Everytime the Democrats have worked themselves into a lather about gun control, they have paid a big price at the ballot box. The American people have rejected them every single time. And, until the Democrats can import many, many more willing subjects for their neo Nazi American vision, they are going to be rejected once more. That’s good for us.
