Donald Trump, speaking to the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), repeatedly said that Jews won't vote for him because, since he isn't accepting donations, they will not be able to control him with their money.
“You are not going to support me even though you know I am the best thing that could happen for Israel. I know why you are not going to support me. You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money,” Trump told a full auditorium of Jewish donors and Republican Jewish supporters. “You want to control your own politicians.”
This plays into anti-Semitic claims that Jews control the country with their money. Has he said this to any other group? Has he told evangelicals that they won't vote for him because they can't control him with their donations? No. Only the Jews.
It is totally bizarre that he would say something so offensive to Jewish voters. Furthermore, why would he ever tell any group of voters that they are not going to vote for him? If that's true, why did he even speak to them? It's a defeatist attitude.
I don't believe, on the basis of this alone, that Donald Trump is an anti-Semite, but these statements put his judgement into question.
Furthermore, he displayed stunning ignorance of what is going on in Israel. He said that once he is president, he is optimistic that with his deal-making skills he can bring peace between the Israelis and Palestinians in six months, or perhaps less, if both are "committted" to peace.

And we have here, in our very own 'Free Republic', those who are donning the 'PC UNIFORM' of the Left. Disgusting!!!!!!
When dumbass also means truth then I’ll go with dumbass. If a Jewish person is truly conservative they wont care about what’s in it for them and will vote for what’s best for all.
That headline guarantees this thread is going to be full of idiocy.
The same idiocy will be repeated in spirit when he turns down ‘black’ donors: racist!, women donors: anti-women, Islamic donors: Islamophobic, homosexual donors: homophobic....
Not being controlled by money is a theme in every speech he gives. Nothing new at all here.
Too many Jews vote Democrat anyway, so what does it matter?
FWIW, I have a lot of Jewish friends and business associates and all of them do it. In fact, they tell me jokes that would get me banned if repeated.
I don't know if this is common or if I am just seen as a type of "honorable gentile" with whom they can show their real selves. I'd like to think the later.
As a native New Yorker, I am guessing that Trump is in a similar situation.
False, misleading headline.
Trump’s daughter is a Jewish convert so I doubt the MSM “hate” angle. Republicans are now sounding like Chris Matthews when it comes to Trump, using all their tricks.
>> So he meets with Jews and says “I don’t want your money.” <<
If he didn’t want their donations, why would he even bother to appear at the meeting? I mean, after all, these guys are YUGE donors to various politicians.
But maybe his motive was just to generate headlines and get more free press by openly rejecting Jewish money?
Anyway, we know DJT is never wrong. So whatever his reason, it was definitely a stroke of genius.
Maybe he appears to reestablish contact and talk about policy? He still wants their verbal support and their votes.
RE: Jews and Money
People seem to have an ill-conceived notion that Jews are wealthy.
However, here in NYC, this is NOT TRUE.

http://www.ujafedny.org/news/new-report-reveals-dramatic-rise-in-poverty-in-jewish-community/
EXCERPT:
Poverty has risen dramatically in the New York Jewish community since the previous study in 2002, according to UJA-Federation of New York’s “Jewish Community Study of New York: 2011 Special Report on Poverty,” released on June 6th. More than 560,000 people in approximately 200,000 Jewish households are poor or near-poor, and 45 percent of the children in Jewish households now live in poor or near-poor households.
More Jewish people are affected by poverty in the eight-county New York area than there are Jews living in other large Jewish communities such as Chicago or Washington, D.C.
There has been a rapid growth in Jewish poverty in recent years, including in suburban areas. In 1991, there were about 180,000 people living in poor Jewish households; 20 years later, this number has doubled to 360,000, an increase that significantly outpaces the 14 percent growth of the Jewish community as a whole.
Approximately 90 percent of poor Jewish households are located in New York City, as are 84 percent of near-poor households. Yet poverty in the suburbs has also increased, growing by 86 percent since 2002.
>> He’s not an anti-Semite.
Not any more than he is anti blacks, Hispanics, women and retards. Did I leave anyone out? He is fairly tolerant with gays. At least he isn’t PC.
Answer: New York, Florida, Las Vegas.
Question: What do all three places have in common?
That headline is misleading.
RE: That headline is misleading.
How should we re-do the headline to make it more accurate?
American Thinker, you are teetering on the edge of sucking ass. Stop with the headline lies.
American Thinker’s about to join mainstream media in their Trump hatred.
He says in every speech that he will not be controlled by donors. That he said it to a Jewish organization means nothing. He’d say it to the Amish if they were heavy donors to politicians.
And he’s right - they’re not going to vote for him.
