A driver license should be nothing more than proof you’ve passed a driving test, know the rudiments of traffic law, and can recognize and obey traffic signs and signals.
It is not necessarily proof of citizenship or legal residence, although it can have a distinguishing mark or words to indicate either, or their absence.
