Amazing to me that the Washington comPOST would publish something from a writer at The Gospel Coalition, but there you have it.
Washington Post? Amazing.
6.She had exact change.
I wonder if she would have found the energy to remain standing if she had known about Obama?
Check out the old movie Barbershop; a comedy from 2002. Listen to what Cedric The Entertainer had to say about the ‘beloved’ Rosa Parks. It sums up what many other black think of her almost mythic stature and influence on Civil Rights.
“What did she really do? Not all that much!”
10 seconds!
None of that BS matters. There shouldn’t have been a section she couldn’t sit in. Attacking it in any manner was fair game.
It was a staged event totally for the theatrics and the optics.
God, the average American is dumber than a sack of hammers..
God..!
I’m not arguing with you on that. :)
Yes, Rosa Park’s move was scripted and thought out beforehand. But it was an important symbol that woke people up all over the country about bullshit racist laws, and so, IMO, deserves the recognition it received.
Just weird to think there was a time these attitudes and behavior were codified, promoted by communities at large and somehow acceptable.
No one should be treated differently because of the color of their skin.
All man, should always be accorded equal stature and respect.
Disgusting period in America and senseless when over 600,000 died over an argument about this.
Absolutely correct. Completely staged.
Well if the story at your link is true, it’s a shame that communists had to play a role in getting the buses desegregated. For that matter, it’s also a shame that we cede this civil rights territory to the liberals, when in fact, it was a very conservative and patriotic thing to not give up that seat on the bus. A person pays their fare, they should be able to sit just like anybody else. Also, any man who would make a woman give up her seat for him is no man at all.
Is her bus tour still rolling?
