White House holiday television special Christmas in Washington has been cancelled after 33 years
After more than three decades, the annual television special Christmas in Washington has come to an end.
TNT severed its ties with the special's producer last year, and a new network was never found, therefore the White House tradition is coming to an end.
The special, which first started in 1982, was attended by the first family and attended by a variety of musical acts. At the end of the performance, the president and his family would come onstage and join in a singalong with all of the performers.

Those are very good. Thank you.
They aren’t perfect, but what they do hit on is the pathway others took to God. They hit on topics others can identify with and go down the same path.
One of the hardest concepts people have to deal with, is a God that doesn’t view sin with favor. They can’t grasp why a loving God can’t just accept their sins.
This whole thing hinges on Lucifer falling, Earth becoming his captive, Jesus purchasing our lives back, and salvation through faith.
Sin will be eradicated as some point, and for the very reason Earth is such a terrible place, where terrible things happen.
Without sin, the Earth will be like heaven.
Can we live without sin now. No. It’s not in our nature, but we should try to live as if we are in heaven already. One day we will live without sin, and we can’t be so in love with it that we will be miserable when it is no longer allowed.
We must find peace with avoiding sin, or we’ll have no peace in heaven.
To that end friend...
The very last thing I want to see in a Christmas special is that bat-eared Kenyan narcissist coming out to do a sing-along with anyone. I can just see him and Van Jones and Valerie Jarrett and Calypso Louie Farrakhan and Eric Holder and Al Sharpton belting out “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”. Andrea Dworkin and Gloria Steinem warbling “Peace on Earth, Goodwill Toward Men” is about as likely. No thanks.
And all the joyful and festive singing of Christmas carols, and the joy, and love, and expressed hopes for "peace on earth", as well as the sounds, smells, and lights of Christmas, will be replaced by the smell of many feet, and the unintentional rude biological noises generated by thousands of "refugees" pointing their Islamic Muslim rears in the air, joined by "the first family", all engaging in another form of "ass-up" prayer for the occasion.
If it was such a big thing, and only the high and mighty and well connected attended, why don’t they open up their check books and foot the damn thing!
