Johnny Cash - Thanksgiving Prayer
We've come to the time in the season When family and friends gather near To offer a prayer of Thanksgiving For blessings we've known through the year To join hands and thank the creator And now when Thanksgiving is due This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you
I'm grateful for the laughter of children The sun and the wind and the rain The color of blue in your sweet eyes The sight of a high ball and train The moon rise over a prairie Old love that you've made new This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you This year when I count my blessings I'm thanking the Lord He made you
And when the time comes to be going It won't be in sorrow and tear I'll kiss you goodbye and I'll go on my way Grateful for all of the years I thank for all that you gave me For teaching me what love can do Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life I'm thanking the Lord He made you Thanksgiving day for the rest of my life I'm thanking the Lord He made you

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Thanksgiving Song
Grateful for each hand we hold Gathered round this table. From far and near we travel home, Blessed that we are able.
Grateful for this sheltered place With light in every window, Saying "welcome, welcome, share this feast Come in away from sorrow."
Father, mother, daughter, son, Neighbor, friend and friendless; All together everyone in the gift of loving-kindness.
Grateful for what's understood, And all that is forgiven; We try so hard to be good, To lead a life worth living.
Father, mother, daughter, son, Neighbor, friend, and friendless; All together everyone, let grateful days be endless.
Grateful for each hand we hold Gathered round this table.
Please remember that The Canteen is here to support and entertain our troops and veterans and their families, and is family friendly.

âDanke Schoen,â sung by Wayne Newton, Brenda Lee and Ferris Bueller I like Anita Lindblom's version, from 1962. She prounounces "Danke Schoen" correctly.

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and too much to eat?
We just finished. My brother surprised my Mom (and me last night) and came by to visit and eat. Pumpkin pie will have to wait til later.

The nation is coming out of a depression and a world war. The labor unions are strike-happy as government spending generates runaway inflation while price controls generate shortages of all sorts of consumer goods. All these forces combine to turn the economy into a mess. Nonetheless, the Pied Pipers can find something to be thankful for.

We had a great day with the whole family. 30 of us total.
I ate some pumpkin pie but pigged out on dinner.
What a great surprise for you and your mom.

Happy Thanksgiving, Ms feather...*hugs*...my brother, who retired to Tennessee, has decided to re-enter the work force. Their boat is taking more money to redo than they thought. So he is up here and came by for dinner. He will be going back to the slope soon.
Love your Thanksgiving Overture.

I agree with you about too much work. Everything came out just fine, but I forgot the cranberry sauce....one of my favorite things. And my knees are screaming about too much standing. I think a bath with the jets going may be in order later.

Hi Kathy!
Whew...too much eating and too much card play has tuckered me out.
Hitting the sack. Tomorrow my sister and I are going to visit some old friends we haven't seen in years.
Have a great evening!

Beautiful...your Mom surely “enjoyed” such a wonderful hymn.
Were you able to plan the music with her before she passed on?
