GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he does not know the disabled New York Times reporter he is accused of mocking.
"I have no idea who this reporter, Serge Kovaleski is, what he looks like or his level of intelligence," Trump said in a statement posted on Twitter on Thursday. "I don't know if he's J.J. Watt or Muhammad Ali in his prime--or somebody of less athletic or physical ability."
Trump cited an article written by Kovaleski in 2001, when he wrote for The Washington Post, that appeared to corroborate the businessman's story of seeing Arab-Americans in New Jersey celebrating as the World Trade Center towers came down.
After Kovaleski, who suffers from a chronic condition that impairs the movement of his arms, went on CNN to renounce the report, Trump appeared to mimic the journalist on stage at a South Carolina rally.
"Now the poor guy, you gotta see this guy: 'Uhh, I don't know what I said. I don't remember.' He's going, 'I don't remember. Maybe that's what I said,' " Trump said at the rally, flailing his arms as he imitated Kovaleski. "That was 14 years ago--they didn't issue a retraction."
The New York Times said it is "outrageous" that Trump would "ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters."
But Trump now claims that he has no idea what Kovaleski looks like.

If Trump had never seen the reporter then why did he say "you got to see this guy"?
Ridicule is a great weapon.
We are all cripples in some way...only the weak among us are sensitive about it.
And the enemy is sensitive about it.
Trump strikes because it is right.
Trump knew this guy...read my comments up thread for my take.
He want people to check this guy who is denying his own article. Come on don’t act like fool.
Conjoined twins, are they?
I was waited-on by a couple of nice girls like that the other day at ... IHOP.
Name tags, Irene, Eileen.
They asked me if I wanted dessert, I said, “What did the teddy bear say?”
They both said. “Gee mister, we’re stumped!”
I said, “NO thanks. I’m stuffed.”
I have no problem with Trump refuting the media. I applaud it.
But mocking a disability may not be the best way. That is childish. jmho.
He knows what he is doing.
It's not easily discernible...but it is quite discernible after a little analysis.
According to your rule, one should not mock Hillary, because she also had lot of problem, we call disability.
That will be offense to you.
How should Trump know what the guy looked like???????
WHY should he “own up” to something that is untrue?
Too much pC is killing this country. If the reporter doesn’t want to be mocked, he shouldn’t write hit pieces.
If Trump really was making fun of the guy (as it appears), then I agree with you. I'm just wondering whether the reporter's disability was apparent on CNN (since Trump claims not to have known the man is disabled).
Yes, you will be applaud, if he says anything to Hillary.
American English is not homogenized. I love the study of American regional colloquialisms.
the physical acting out..by the candidate... was far too accurate to have been arrived at by accident
Im done with this thread.
Thanks
I like problems...our struggles in dealing with them give us character.
Without our problems we would be children...with no character.
It is astounding just how much the establishment fears Trump.
In their arrogance they telegraphing what they don’t want us to do.
“Trump strikes because it is right.”
Sorry, Rooster, but I disagree. We are supposed to be adults. I really don’t want another reactive child in the White House. We’ve been there and seen that...I’m still waiting for a t-shirt.
I bet, you will be supportive towards Hillary, noone should mock her also because she is woman and cranky voice (disability)
I didn’t realize until I read this thread that he was the same scumbag who harassed Palin up in Wasilla. That certainly changes things. I still think Trump was going after the reporter personally, but after what he’s done, he deserves that and worse. Excuse my language, but **** him.
Remember when the Libs made fun of McCain’s disability?
They maligned him for not using a Computer, but he can’t lift his arms to type on a Keyboard due to his Injuries when he Ejected from his Fighter over Vietnam.
They had a field day with that, but they didn’t say a word when Bill Clinton said he doesn’t type Emails. The same non existent Emails Hillary said she responded to 10,000 times.
That's what the little PC jerk Serge Kovalski wants you to think when he plays the Gimp Card.
If he wants to play politics, then he's fair game - ESPECIALLY if he has a history of playing the Gimp Card, which according to some, he does.
