Sylvester Stallone May Finally Win Oscar for Playing Rocky Balboa in “Creed”

...

Stallone [was] nominated for Best Actor for playing "Rocky" in 1977. (Peter Finch won for "Network.") He has never been nominated since then. But his work is so good now as the boxing coach for Jordan's Adonis Creed, Stallone is very likely to sweep in and surprise everyone. (This would be bad news for the many other potential nominees from "Spotlight" and other films.)

"Creed" is a total hit, a must see movie for Thanksgiving weekend. Coogler is 29 years old and this is second movie, after the wonderful "Fruitvale Station" Not only has be brought Jordan over from that film, but he’s incorporated Stallone, Rashad, and a terrific cast in a movie that feels deceptively like comfort food but is really haute cuisine.

Is there a “Special Ed” category in the Oscars?

Unless I’m mistaken Stallone created those characters.

"Worth noting that there are very few actors who can claim TWO iconic characters."

If you count TV and movies, you'd have to include Pierce Brosnan (Bond and Remington Steele) and Bruce Willis (Moonlighting's David Addison and John McClane of the Die Hard series).

To that you can add the voice of Mikey in the first two "Look Who's Talking" movies.

I give it a 6.5/10. Stallone was very good as Rocky, but I wasn’t impressed with the actor who played Creed. The film was more on the level of “Rocky Balboa” than “Rocky”.

I never really watched Moonlighting, but I think that’s stretching “iconic”. Personally my favorite Willis movie is Last Man Standing (see my tagline).

I watched “Rocky” at a Drive In (way too many years ago) there were so many fist fights going on, it was difficult to leave when the Movie was over and once you made it out you were pulled over and either got a DWI or an Open Container (trust me it was a totally Red Neck Theater, complete with Cows Grazing and I sure do miss that place) EVERYONE was either Ticketed or Arrested (everyone was in violation) and the Next Weekend they had MORE people show up! It was an Event! And everyone would be in violation again, it wasn’t a big thing, it was just being Young.
Perspective ... you had to be Drunk to get a DWI and and Open Container Fine was the Cop would dump all of your full ones and it was either dismissed or a $20 Fine (Habitual Offenders and the Underage had a steeper hill to climb)
I would trade a bunch of tomorrows for a few of those yesterdays... Life was Good.
I miss my Country as much as I miss my Youth, Freedom and just the Good Times.

The porn isn't in his bio? Imagine that.

Stallone's porn movie was originally titled "The Party at Kitty and Stud's." After the Rocky movies came out, the porn was re-released as the "Italian Stallion."

Here's the IMDB description: "Kitty and Stud are lovers. They enjoy a robust sex-life, which includes fellatio and light S&M, specifically, Stud belt-whipping Kitty. Three women come over for a party and Stud services them, one after the other."

And I'm the one who is over the top?
