Presidential candidate Ted Cruz, R-Tex., criticized President Obama for being "out of touch" for comments he made Tuesday suggesting that stopping climate change would send a strong message to the Islamic State that Western values cannot be deterred by terrorism.
Cruz, speaking to Fox News' Megyn Kelly, condemned Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry for telling Americans "that they think essentially your SUV in the driveway is a greater threat to our security than is ISIS, than is a nuclear Iran and it makes no sense whatsoever."
"You know what would be a real rebuke to ISIS? When we kill the terrorists before they carry out another terror attack here at home murdering innocent Americans," Cruz answered.
The Texas senator said "it's gotten to the point where I don't think 'Saturday Night Live' can even parody this president anymore."
During a press conference with French President Francois Hollande Tuesday afternoon at the White House, Obama said that next week's international climate summit in Paris will be "a powerful rebuke to the terrorists" showing that "the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children."
Oh thanks! Okay, well I'll make it easy for you:
Conflating-compliments-with-spam-IS-proof, genius.
Yep.
Oh, now I get it.
Good grief you’re hypersensitive, looking for trolls in every corner.
Like Trump or not, odds are (at this point) he’s going to be President, and Cruz his VP. That’s not a trollish observation, just the way things are playing out. I like & prefer Cruz, Cruz has by far best chance of being VP, and as post #2 says he’ll be a rockin’ one at that. Fair assessment.
Always good to see Cruz standing up against the dangerous policies of Barry’s Regime. Cruz’s showing leadership while speaking truth.
+1
Looks to me Cruz is playing it perfectly (well, as best he can with Trump dominating). He doesn’t _want_ that media blockade broken yet - too early. Trump’s biggest risk is flaming out before the primary. Cruz is building solid momentum slowly, garnering votes that actually matter and not dealing with publicity & issues that don’t (who cares what Salon and other Lefties have to say? if not a prime target on their radar, don’t have to deal with their BS). Best if he starts winning early primaries, THEN has a solid base to use the then-unavoidable media attention to his advantage.
You don’t have to look in ever corner for trolls just pick a Cruz thread and you will find it littered with Trump trolls.
Saying “Cruz will be a rockin’ VP” is hardly a “vicious anti-Cruz attack”. More like an acknowledgement of high odds that Trump will be POTUS, like it or not.
Looking behind a complement to Cruz, devoid of mention of Trump, to find and out a Trumpbot _is_ digging in corners for hobgoblins.
Let see if as you said the words about Cruz was merely a small slight and the my pointing it out was in the same category, but your hysterical running to the mods was prudent?
Again the pot calls the kettle black
Anyone who thinks Cruz would be Trumps VP is shown their total ignorance of both men.
Many of us have posted comments over the years that were intended to be sarcastic or satirical, only to have ‘real’ similar headlines show up a short time later.
Some mornings when I go through the overnight headlines, I wonder whether I woke up in a parallel universe or a new bazarro world.
Ted Cruz has certainly learned from the master, Donald Trump, how to use the media. Now, why can’t these two form a team to reclaim our benighted land from utter collapse?
Trump/Cruz 16
I've seen no reason to believe he CAN. The whole McConnell thing fizzled.
Cruz is building solid momentum slowly, garnering votes that actually matter...
Do you know of some "super voters" that I don't? All the organization in the world means nothing if somebody else is more popular.
This "ground game" meme is just a variation on the misguided "Jeb Bush is unstoppable" canard.
Best if he starts winning early primaries, THEN has a solid base to use the then- unavoidable media attention to his advantage.
Well I'll believe it when he starts winning primaries, but even so, how does he avoid the McCain/Romney media treatment?
Must be true as you NEVER see him parodied on any of these comedy shows. They keep their powder dry for Trump and Sarah Palin.
Well, we can both recognize the likelihood of Trump winning (like it or not), and hope that our preferred candidate (Cruz) will get a high position if not top billing.
Got a better idea of who would be Trump’s VP? Hate to see Cruz leave the stage. Don’t think there’s a more competent option.
If you think I’m ignorant, kindly enlighten me.
Now we have two Trump and Cruz.
Yes, we have our preference between them, but it is my opinion that both should be supported equally, with differences discussed logically and without undue emotion - no “my guy vs your guy” stuff.
If Cruz and Trump can support each other, maybe we should do the same? Let their campaigns work it out in the coming months - one will emerge that we will all stand behind.
I know this comment is disjointed, but hope I got my point across.
Is this like the video that caused the death of Ambassador Stevens et al? (Obama to Pentagon: 'Get to the bottom' of altered Islamic State intelligence)? Obama is trying to duck the blame once again.....I do believe you can take this latest lie/tale to the bank.
