There are new developments in a story that has kept investigators busy for several days after police say a man stole guns from a Worcester armory and then fled to New York.
Now, New York Police say they have recovered at least some of the weapons.
It was a little more than a week ago when 16 military weapons were stolen from the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center. Top officials voiced their concerns as the theft came during a time when national security concerns are at a high point.

James Walker Morales, 34, a former Army reservist with ties to New York, was arrested and charged on Long Island Wednesday night.
Morales, who also faces a child rape charge from earlier in the year, is charged with unlawful possession of a machine gun and unlawful possession of firearms.
Six M-4 rifles and 10 Sig Sauer M11 9mm pistols had been stolen from the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center on Lake Avenue North. The weapons have a total value of more than $1,000.
Morales was also convicted in 2013 of aggravated assault and battery, the FBI stated. He was at the armory two days before the burglary to pick up discharge papers, according to the FBI.
And The One wants people to talk about gun control over Thanksgiving...
“The weapons have a total value of more than $1,000.”
Uh, no.
That’s true. “more than $1000” Not particularly accurate, but almost certainly true.
It’s a charging floor, I think, for an initial grand larceny charge.
Closer to 4k worth of weapons
Another “Walker” ...
A lot more than that for one, 5 figgers.
Yep, was just adjustin the Mendoza line
Thanks for the Posting.
Found them PING!
Yeah, they’re red-hot guns. The fence value prolly a lot less than for a legit full auto.
dude, the SIG's are $900 and up each... M4? name yer price
burn the child raping SOB
Yeah, and closer to 20k+ retail Per M4, plus license for a legit sale considering the stolen M4s have an auto select fire switch. Street value as a stolen automatic weapon would probably be alot less, maybe half that depending on the buyer(s) and the seller’s urgency to offload them.
The larceny part of the charge will be based on what the firearms cost the government, not a retail value since these particular firearms in question are still government property and may not be sold legally.
Larceny charges in general are separated as to severity as: under $200, $200-$1,000, $1,000-$5,000, $5,000 to $20,000, and $20,000 +.
Of course, there are burglary charges possible too.
And, the $1,000 is a floor. The actual amount will be more
100%, but i doubt the reporter was talking about the street value of stolen weapons... i was simply looking at legal value
And my point
.
One Sig Sauer M11 9mm pistol is worth about $500 at retail.
So the bunch is worth way over $1000
