Donald Trump has fended off a challenge by Ben Carson in the early voting state of Iowa and maintained his lead elsewhere, according to the latest wave of the YouGov/CBS News Battleground Poll.
30% likely Republican caucus goers in Iowa name Trump as their choice for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, receives 19% support, behind Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas who receives 21%. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida receives 11%.
In a YouGov/CBS News poll last month, Trump and Carson were tied with 27% support each among voters in the Hawkeye State. Other polls even found Carson with narrow leads in Iowa and nationally, shaking up a race Trump had dominated for months. However, amid the increased scrutiny that accompanies front-runner status, questions have been raised about claims Carson has made about his personal history. Since October, support for Carson is 8 points lower in Iowa, two points lower in New Hampshire and five points lower in South Carolina.

I still firmly believe that the Carson lead here in Iowa was a fabrication made up of manipulated polls.
YAY TRUMP!
Agree. There were weird or no internals posted too.
I am waiting for the first Lame Stream guy to become like a birther and announce the Trump co-ordinated the Terrorist attack in Paris to sky rocket his numbers....seriously....
Freegards

Hehee....
I agree. I think it was part of the GOPe attempt to bring Trump down.
Me too. It was absolutely unfathomable.
LOL!
The big news in this poll is the rise of Cruz and not the falling popularity of Carson. Iowa is going to be Trump vs. Cruz. That’s the news and the MSM is very unhappy about it. If Trump and Cruz finish 1-2 no matter who wins this will be a big deal for Cruz.
The MSM PLAN TO IGNORE CRUZ will be dead and buried.
Facts:
1) Except in the very odd/exceptional election year of 1964, the Dems havenât cracked 50% of the whites in a Presidential election since 1932.
2) Once the â64 election was over, the Dems understood that they would never win another Presidential election again unless the Republicans REALLY screwed up...or unless they changed the electorate in a dramatic way.
3) The Dems, courtesy of Bobby Kennedy who wrote the law, and Teddy Kennedy who pushed it in the Senate, passed the 1965 Immigration Act. That law dramatically reduced immigration from our then-traditional large sources of immigrants - England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, etc. - and replaced them with vast numbers of Turd Worlders...whom everyone knows vote around 80% for Dems, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, as new immigrants have traditionally done.
4) As a result of the â65 Act, and due to the Demâs outright lying in â86 regarding an effective (or any) fence, there are now probably 30 - 40 million illegals in this nation. Note that the (probably low-ball) figure in 2005 was 11 million...we have 2-3 million come in every year, so simple math says that the number is actually somewhere between 31 and 41 million). If any substantial portion of these people ever become citizens, then the Dems will have accomplished a complete shift of the electorate, and will be virtually invincible on the national level. Every state will become like California, both politically and economically - which is to say, overwhelming Dem and broke. But at least if you donât like California now, you can leave for a better place without much trouble - where are you going to go if EVERY state is like that?
5) Every Republican, and every Conservative voter MUST UNDERSTAND that if such a state of affairs comes to be, NO OTHER ISSUE WILL MATTER AT ALL, because we will ALWAYS AND FOREVER lose on those issues. Immigration is THE issue of this election, and this election is as critical as the 1860 election was - and for the same reason, because it will determine whether this nation continues on as it has existed in the past, or becomes a new and unrecognizable entity that simply occupies the same geographic territory.
Please wake up, and help others to do so by sending them this post (or recommending âAdios Americaâ to them). It really is THAT important.
Just watched Rush on Wallace’s show. He gave the most glowing opinion of Cruz. “Brillilant, conservative through and through, trustworthy, confident, leader and someone on whom you can totally depend”. Sounds like an endorsement to me but I already knew that.
No word on Rubio.
Said gop should be learning from Trump that you don’t have to be afraid of the press and being so PC.
Hem hawed about Carson, said he has met and nicest guy, he hates press attacks on him. If vote between any dem and Carson he would vote for Carson.
Rumor has it - Pataki, Kasich, & Senator Lindsey Graham are dropping out of the race very soon. Hope it's not true, they're so easy to beat!

Where will all their 3.2% support go? Hahahaa...
As a side-note to this thread, please consider the following.
If Trump gets the Republican nomination, I hope that he plans to give Cruz the job of US attorney general instead of vice president. This is because I still have not figured out what the vice president does for a living. ;^)
Having been polled three times since Bush 43s first term I am of the opinion all polls are manipulated to some degree.
A question can be asked in many ways to get the desired answer
The Carson poll numbers, IMHO, have been manipulated, massaged and rolled from day one.
Some of it may have been conservative whites wanting to support a black candidate, the rest was made up and manipulation by the RNC and the democrat MSM.
Agree. If Cruz doesn’t get the nomination, we need him as Attorney General.
