Dallas, TX Mayor Mike Rawlings spoke Saturday on MSNBC, saying that ISIS wants the United States to "demonize" the Syrian refugees, the reason being that ISIS does not represent Islam.
"ISIS wants us to demonize these Syrian refugees, want us to alienate these children," Rawlings said. "We have got to build a coalition of Middle Eastern states and we need to reach out, they're Muslims and we have got to use the words carefully to show them that we care about them. ISIS is no more Islamic than the Nazi senior staff was Christian. so we have got to differentiate between the two."
The Democratic mayor later stated in the interview that the addition of refugees in Texas is a "serious issue," but he added that he is "more fearful" of "young white men" performing mass shootings in theaters or schools.
"I am more fearful of large gatherings of young white men that come into schools, theaters and shoot people up," he said. "But we don't isolate young white men on this issue."

Mayor Rawlings is willing, even eager sometimes, to stretch the rules — and without any great lawyering that I’ve seen — to move public matters offshore and into private hands when it suits him.
But good Lord in heaven don’t let him catch the people’s elected representatives taking anything into their own hands, at least not those who disagree with him. Rawlings missed a meeting last spring when council member Scott Griggs, in a dialogue with residents who had appeared to speak to the council, delivered a fiery tirade against the Trinity River toll road.
Somebody in the city manager’s office or on the private Dallas Citizens Council must have tattled on Griggs, because the mayor, claiming he had gone back and watched videotape of the meeting, sent the entire City Council a memo telling them it was illegal for them — a violation of law — to express their own opinions when discussing an issue with citizen speakers at a council meeting.
And his basis is history or just being an idiot?
I would commit this man to a humanitarian mission in Ferguson, Mo, to see if he could last one day, or perhaps in a effort to convince ISIS in Syria that they are the good guys.

Maybe the New York Times could look into this since they were so aghast about Muslims being targeted because of their religion.
