Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Threat Level in Brussels Elevated to Highest Level, November 21, 2015
The U.S. Embassy in Brussels informs U.S. citizens that Belgium has raised its threat level for Brussels from level 3 (high) to level 4 (imminent attack). For the rest of Belgium, the threat level remains at level 3. The U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens to shelter in place and remain at home. If you must go out, avoid large crowds. The Embassy will provide further information as received and is available.

The U.S. Embassy will continue to update and inform the community of any/all security related information as we are made aware. It is important that everyone remain cognizant of their personal safety and security at all times.
TRAVEL RESTRICTION: U.S. European Command (EUCOM) issued a travel restriction to ‪#‎Brussels‬ for the next 72 hours. This
restriction applies to all DoD elements and personnel which include military personnel, DoD civilian employees, contractors, and command-sponsored dependents/family members currently outside Belgium. For those already in Brussels, everyone is to shelter in place and remain at home.

The problem with doing this is that now that the alert status has been raised to, 'imminent,' unless there is an attack, or at least the well-publicized interdiction of an attack, the public confidence in the system of declared threat levels will wane and people will take them less seriously.
Maybe I’ll go somewhere safe, like Chicago, instead...................

WHY is anyone suffering these bloodthirsty barbarians? WHY? What do they contribute that makes their presence tolerable? Why all the ‘warnings’ and WAITING for them to act instead of PREMPTIVELY acting to purge your countries of them? It’s like having a gun and waiting for the tiger stalking you to actually bite before you kill it;or seeing a cancerous tumor and waiting till it’s metastasized to treat it. Insanity!!
