I’m sure Paul Ryan and his comrades hope so
You are going into a less-than-normal thrilled Democratic crowd. I’d predict that ten-percent less votes occur, and that hurts everyone down the line if you intend to run as a Democrat in 2016.
Yes, I'm sure they find it much easier being the token "opposition" minority party.
The way McConnell gives Obama everything he wants will that make a difference?
Will Democrats Win Back the Senate? How would we tell the difference?
The Democrats will pick up seats but I don’t think they will regain control of the Senate.
With the number of bought and paid for “Republican” (ie: in campaign season only) Senators up for election, who’s going to vote for those backstabbers? I’d rather have a more reliably conservative Republican HOR, a minority in the US Senate that’s loyal to their base, and President Trump.
If they do, they should throw a big "Thank You" Party for Mitch "0bama's Bitch" McConnell.
Personally, since the GOP took over, the only change I've seen is that now I get pissed off daily by McConnell, instead of Harry Reid.
Cruz is getting lots of friendly GOPe press lately, Rubio too, mean while the GOPe Trump bashing continues unabated. Hopefully I am not the only one that can put one and one together and come up with two.
This raises an interesting question, maybe worthy of its own thread. Let's say Trump or Cruz (or Trump/Cruz) gets elected, and the Senate remains in GOP hands, maybe 52-48, almost certainly meaning that McConnell remains the Majority Leader. Does McConnell give Trump, or Cruz, everything he wants? Does Paul Ryan?
So if the Senate goes back to the ‘rats — how will we know? What will be different?
To do what they do? Yes
How does a arty which had a mandate in 2010 by winning frighteningly, historically, even talk about losing a few years later after the worst president anyone can imagine in their wild dreams runs the country into the ground, watching Europe succumb to a common enemy and after the Same party takes the senate as the voters practically bring pitchforks and torches to the voting center?
As the presidency is going to the same party?
Thee answer is obvious as it has always been. Whatever deal they have with their leaders, whoever they are, includes their not being the majority party. They do not want it and they’re not supposed to have it. Paul Ryan is in there to see to that. He is bad for this and he’ll be in there for a long time.
The democrats have already won the senate. It’s just that some of them that just got re elected call themselves republicans. As Quannel X says “Putting kittens in the oven don’t make ‘em biscuits.”
Not if they stay w Obama’s refugee program. The will lose seats.
Real question is: Are Kirk, Ron Johnson, Ayotte and Portman using this democrat disconnect against them.
“Does McConnell give Trump, or Cruz, everything he wants? Does Paul Ryan?”
They better, if they want to keep their jobs. Besides, Trump will go right around them and straight to the people via the media. And he’s good at it.
In 2012 Democrat turned out a record number of Black voters.Anyone see anything in 2016 indicated the same level of black voter enthusiasm for Hillary or Bernie?
Using 2012 turn out models is going to skew the results of any poll leftward in 2016. It is doubtful the Democrats will attract the same very high % of black voters to the polls in 2016 that they did in 2012
After all the hoopla of Cotton defeating Pryor in 2014, Boozman — the other Arkansas Senator — is finding himself in possible trouble for 2016.
Not only does he have a Democrat challenger [Conner Eldridge] who has raised more money than Boozman has in the 3rd quarter, but Boozman also will have a primary challenger [Curtis Coleman].
A UofA poll shows Boozman’s approval-disapproval at 38/18, but nearly 44% either don’t know who Boozman is or chose not to respond to the poll.
Boozman defeated Blanche Lincoln for that seat. Dems will likely put everything they can into switching it back to the Dem column.
I totally disagree. This overview is way off base!!! The GOP tickent is going to be Trump/Cruz!!! I am still not sure that Hillary Clinton will stay in the race....although, I hope, with all my heart, she does!!! Trump/Cruz will slaughter Clinton politically in the general election and the landslide victory will take down Democrats to a very weak minority status in both houses!!!
If Trump & Cruz have not faded by now....they ain’t gonna fade!!! What will suffer badly, is the Republican establishment, RINO group!!! And....I have a hint for you....do not use your ordinary Democrat voting bloc assessment. Trump/Cruz will draw far more the just Republican Conservatives....who wii, by the way, turn out in massive numbers in their favor. Trump/Cruz will win with somewhere between 55-60% of the vote, easily!!!
