France, Russia pummel ISIS stronghold as critics blast US rules of engagement (we are wussies)

In the wake of Friday's deadly terror attack in Paris and the confirmed bombing of a Russian airliner, Russia and France are pounding the Islamic State's Syrian stronghold of Raqqa as, while the number of U.S. airstrikes against ISIS still dwarves all others combined, America appears to be in a slap fight while others are punching hard, say military experts.

U.S. rules of engagement and the overarching desire to minimize collateral damage are holding back the true force of U.S. air power, while Paris and Moscow have taken off the gloves following the bombing of a Russian airliner and Friday's horrific attacks in the French capital, according to one retired four-star general.

As of Tuesday, the U.S. has launched 8,243 airstrikes against ISIS targets, including 2,841 in Syria, according to the Pentagon.

"Our air campaign in Syria and Iraq has never been what it should be," said Gen. Jack Keane, former vice chief of staff of the U.S. Army and a Fox News contributor. "We've had incredible restrictions on what we call rules of engagement so, as a result, it takes layers to get approval for a target, it takes too much time, the enemy gets away on us, we’re not really going after the right targets."

“Russia and France are pounding the Islamic State’s Syrian stronghold of Raqqa”

I have been pointing out that the ISIS capital has been standing for over a year.

Thank goodness someone will make the rubble bounce. Twice. At least.

I thought Feckless was setting today’s record at a triple post, then I saw your quadruple.

Would you care to add a twist for a possible 10.0 score?

;-)

Watching the newest ISIS videos on CNN, it occurred to me that these people are Low Functioning Chimpanzees.

Seriously people, these guys are the Military Wing of the Deliverence Nation.

The only way these people could he a threat to Civilized Nations would be for liberals to open the gates while everyone slept.

They are morons with outdated Russian weapons. This is all stupid.

obama is not just a "muslim sympathizer", he's a muslim. He was raised as a muslim, he attended a muslim school and he does everything he can to defend muslim interests above American interests.

obama is a muslim and it's not a club he can just quit. If he did, that would make him an apostate. The Religion of Terror's (the ROT's) leaders have commented on apostates of islam: "Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him" Hadith – Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)

As we were taught before heading to Vietnam, "A six year old kid with a frag will kill you just a quick as a NVA colonel!"

Any old 7.62 bullet traveling at 2,350 fps can ruin your whole day, no matter how ancient the Russian/Czech/Chinese rifle barrel that launched it in your direction.

You are correct, but that is exactly what has happened.

If we go to war we need to do it like the Romans. We go there to kill people, break things and move on. Those wars never take a decade to break even.

Under Clinton and Bush as well....Clinton used it constantly, even in our NATO participation. Bush to a lesser degree but if one recalls, it was a issue we criticized when we saw it.

I will have to look to see if Reagan used it to any great degree, but it seems to me he employed it during attacks on Kaddafi’s infrastructure to a limited degree.. But he usually used the weapon of surprise when he could.

As of Tuesday, the U.S. has launched 8,243 airstrikes against ISIS targets, including 2,841 in Syria, according to the Pentagon.

According to media reports in the last few days, the French bombed ISIS headquarters in Syria and several ISIS training camps within 24 hours after the Paris attacks.

If the U.S. didn't destroy these targets in the course of more than 8,000 airstrikes, then what the hell were we attacking?

Not being down on Kalashnikovs, but they are far more effective in the hands of Nations with Sattelites. These people are chimps.

Which is exactly what the liberals have been doing, from not concluding a proper status of forces agreement to leave behind American troops to back up the Iraqis, to backing the "Arab Spring", to the multiculturalist policies of the EU and most of its member states, to the proposals to resettle Syrian "refugees" in the U.S., the left has been opening the gates to the barbarians, or rather as Mark Steyn put it: the barbarians are inside and there are not gates.

Thank you for that information. If dropping leaflets beforehand is the SOP, I have to question its wisdom, especially with an enemy as sinister as ISIS.
