Donald Trump suggested Monday that U.S. counterterrorism officials should shut down certain mosques in response to the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris last week.
âI would hate to do it but itâs something youâre going to have to strongly consider,â the 2016 Republican frontrunner said on MSNBCâs âMorning Joeâ when asked if he would recommend taking the measure.
âSome of the absolute hatred is coming from those areas,â he said.

Would have to include all the Democratic Black Caucus and most all other Democrats, so it won't happen.
>>Is it truly a 1st Amendment matter when a a so-called âreligionâ teaches the overthrow of government?
It’s certainly a 1st amendment matter when the “religion” is a coercive state-establishment: Like ISIS/Sharia.
“ERRORS CEASING TO BE DANGEROUS WHEN IT IS PERMITTED FREELY TO _________ THEM”
Fill in the blank and think about why the founders of the American Republic wisely prohibited state-establishments like ISIS/Sharia/and Others in their 1st amendment and protected the 1st with the 2nd.
Bingo
Yes, but serve a search warrant at the same time, with no notice.
>>Certainly close any mosque associated with an attack.
Why wait for an attack?
At what point does a mosque become a de facto government institution — like the ones prohibited in the 1st amendment?
Ah yes the voice of reasoned ignorance.
“fallible and uninspired men have assumed dominion”
When a mosque assumes dominion and projects that dominion coercively upon the citizenry - is that not a government institution?
Sounds good to me. Islam is not a religion, IMO. Not even close. It’s a murder cult. It should not be allowed.
You need not fret
America has no resolve yet to do much except enforce political correctness
It could take the death of millions to shake the white western Christian world back to the realities it faces from these pagan maniacs
And Islam will certainly bring it
There is nothing new whatsoever in all of this, Islam has coveted the White Christian Western world more than any other since it spread beyond Arab lands 1400 years ago
It is standard Islamic proselytizing by the sword
The medieval Islamic warlords could have only hoped to have been faced with such a pliable Christendom
You’re concerned about slippery slopes in the face of an enemy who would exterminate every vestige of us
Kinda funny no
But don’t worry it’s not 1941

Sure. Why not? The government did it to the Mormons in the late 1800's. The precedent has already been set. The fact those seizures were over polygamy makes the case against the Islamists even better because they are polygamists too.

He’s of course absolutely right, even though it will never happen on this administration. If anything he’d build more.
The media are going to be apoplectic over this statement. Right now I’m just hoping he doesn’t walk it back.
And I’m hoping the government of France actually have the balls to shut them down.
Exactly, they love to bask in the glory of their world wide compassion as long as it’s your child that gets to go to school with them.
Deport ALL Muslims.
We need to do this here.

I agree. We should amend the Constitution to ban Islam.
From the article:
“Around 7.5 percent of the country’s inhabitants are Muslim, but some 60 percent of prisoners are, according to a 2014 report.”
And stat is referenced here: http://www.economist.com/news/briefing/21639540-attacks-charlie-hebdo-and-kosher-supermarket-brought-french-together-unity
Valid point in post 12 and a good reason we should never act emotionally. With that said though, it seems obvious to me that fundamental Islam is not compatible with our constitution. Sharia law is in opposition to our constitution. As long as one can practice their faith while observing the constitutional rights of others there should be no issue. If one practices their faith by advocating violence against others they are operating outside of the constitution.
It is a difficult situation given that the left seems so committed to using the courts to attack Christianity because it disagrees with their agenda. FRegards.
