GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump returned to the great state of Texas on Saturday during his quest to âMake America Great Again.â As this video shows, he spoke for over an hour, which is his new plan of action. His campaign has transformed into a series of long-winded monologues that feel like heâs trying to convince himself to stay in the race.
Perhaps Trump has realized that heâd take a significant pay cut as president, which isnât as much of a joke as reality. To Trump, money is the ultimate motivator, and (as he enjoys reminding us) heâs poured a lot of his own cash into this campaign. During this speech in Beaumont, Trump made his thoughts on the Paris terrorist attacks known. He believes that Franceâs strong gun control laws did nothing to deter the attackers, and he says that armed civilians could have helped diffuse the situation:
âWhen you look at Paris, toughest gun laws in the world, nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody had guns. And they were just shooting them one by one, and then they broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists. And I will tell you what â you can say what you want, if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would have been a much, much different situation.â
This isnât the only occasion Trump has used a tragedy to further his own agenda, and it certainly isnât the first time he criticized gun control in France. Following the January Charlie Hebdo attacks, Trump tweeted, âIsnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?â
Donald J. Trump â â@realDonaldTrump Isnât it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?

So, when disagreed with you call everyone Nazis. Interesting.
Life comes first, in my view. "Life, liberty, and 'pursuit of happiness' (which is property for some folks).
It wasn't accidental that it was placed first.
The WaPo also carried it. I don’t trust them either.
My gun is used to protect me. If there was a Mall shooting the thing to do is try to hide. If I see the shooter looking towards me then I shoot; I don’t go and do a Jane Wayne and go hunting the shooters to be some sort of heroine. Cops hear of a Mall shooting and see you with a gun, guess what?
Right - the European media says “At least we’re not like those gun happy Americans”
It’s not target practice.
However, if I had positive ID and in position for an absolute kill, whether they saw me or not, I would shoot.
re: He just might be the Winston Churchill of our time.
Could be. But he also could be the Benito Mussolini of our time.
As for other clap trap you referenced in your reply.
âHe wouldnât have gun free zones....killing zonesâ
No private property in your world?
Cities, counties and states must bow to a federal master?
Damn that sounds like Italy in 1936. Hmm.
.........................................................
You’re certainly trying to warp the issue., The CONSTITUTION takes precedence ( or is supposed to) in our REPUBLIC! Trump will back the Constitution AS IT IS WRITTEN. You know...that pesky little sentence that just won’t go away, no matter how hard the Democrats and lily-Livers try to eclipse it...that pesky little sentence that ends with...”The right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.” Trump will see that the infringements are removed which is a step in returning the United States to a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC in which the people govern.
Mussolini got his comeuppance at the end of a rope, but at least the trains did run on time. I hope he set a precedence for our own “Dear Leader.” The people will supply the rope.
I guess it’s what the situation is. But again, if you’re shooting at that shooter and the cops just come in and don’t see him but see you, guess what?
He was not creamed over the weekend. He said what needed to be said.
"His own agenda..." interesting choice of words.
And so does any one with any sense.
I was in a plane takedown practice once. They have to treat everyone as a terrorist anyway, so they’ll not be thrilled with the gun no matter what.
All reporting on Trump is slanted. The MSM is more subtle and sinister.
Look back at what I wrote. I called no one names. I asked questions. You compared Trump to Churchill, I asked if he could be a 180 degrees different.
You might check your history too. Mussolini was a Fascist not a Nazi.
Now if You are so interested in the constitution, tell me where in it does it say, a president can order there will be NO gun free zones or anything anywhere other then federal property?
I cannot find it.
Instead of kneejerk reactions to my questions, you might try responding with a little thought. But then again...............
#1,I did not compare Trump to Churchill.Although i agree to a certain extent, I compare Trump to Patton. Big Difference!
#2. I don’t need to “check my history.” I never said Mussolini was a Nazi, so please stop trying to put words in my mouth.
#3. The President can cause the return to Constitutionality which would erase the politically invoked GUN FREE ZONES. He most likely will also force the government to sell off some land it’s hoarding, and stop the land grab initiated by Agenda 21 which intends to force Americans into stack and pack living.
#4. I would suggest you read and understand what the Constitution says. You are searching blindly without knowing which direction you are going. Your kneejerk reactions are evident. My responses have not only thoughtful, but have comprehension as a foundation. You are simply seeking an argument by alluding to Italy’s part time wartime leader in the same breath with the POTENTIAL leader of the U.S., Donald Trump. Your kite won’t fly!
A fascist is a fascist.
And it’s the Declaration that says “life, liberty, pursuit of happiness...”. Nonetheless, the President doesn’t need to order anything. The Constitution already guarantees a right to keep and bear arms. You might notice that the right isn’t limited. So, the right to self-defense seems to be universal, and that makes sense, because the right to life is universal.
Pretend all you want that the word ‘claptrap’ is friendly, but ‘don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining.’
So from their point of view it’s better to surrender yourself and die? Is this the mentality that has taken hold since W.W. II just submit willingly and die so as not to offend anyone? How once mighty Europe has fallen.
Hey stupid, did you NOT notice that post was addressed to both you and another poster who also cannot stand questions?
No. Guess not since you only read the parts you want to and extrapolate that into a slight or an insult.
As the sign in my old contract law class said:
R T E Q then R T E A
You’re wrong.
Trump said that if the citizens in France had been armed, there would have been a different outcome.
You are trying to demonstrate that Trump’s statement is wrong, because of “gun free” zones.
Trump talking about an armed citizenry making a difference has nothing to do with “gun free” zones, yet you brought it into the argument.
You are making an argument against something that was not argued in the first place.
Why?
You say that to Mollie, And you're the calm, clear thinking one?
Troll alert! And the 'personal attacks' kind.
Don’t be a commie.
