It's bad enough having a state hold an election that is racially discriminatory. Now we have a judge willing to allow it to move forward.
That would be federal district court Judge J. Michael Seabright (a George W. Bush appointee, surprisingly enough). He's refused to issue an injunction to stop an election in Hawaii to set up a separate government that excludes anyone who doesn't meet the state's definition of "Native Hawaiian."
Seabright's deplorable decision in Akina v. State of Hawaii is on an emergency appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals--which, unfortunately, doesn't always seem to believe in following Supreme Court precedent.
I agree. Maybe Japan could take it over once the Native Hawaiians screw thing up. Pull all American interest and business away from the fools and see how they do. Keep all military bases and consider them American soil.
Folks need to review the history of Hawaii and how it was taken over in a coup of DEMOCRAT business men and U S troops with a an abject LIE to the Queen, literally in a single night. Simply stated, It was stolen from the Hawaiians ILLEGALLY. If this were to happen today it would cause total outrage. The judge is correcting history. The USA should never be allowed to own Hawaii. If this goes forward, Hawaiians will have a say in their government, but also will be given the chance to rebuild their rich and peaceful culture.
” . . . meet the state’s definition of ‘Native Hawaiian.’”
There is evidence that Asians arrived in Hawaii before Polynesians. Will their descendants be allowed to vote?

Excerpts:
Micronesia Mystery
On a tiny island of Micronesia lies one of archaeology great mysteries — the ruins of the ancient canal city of Nan Madol (500 CE), home of 1,000 royal and elite islanders. It is built of uncut stones weighing up to 50 tons on artificial islets bearing residences, meeting houses, a palace, tombs, temples, baths and artificial ponds. Basalt columns laid end-to-end extend half a mile into the lagoon. Twelve vertical columns found planted 2,100 feet below the ocean’s surface may be man-made. Nan Madol disappeared in the 17th century. According to archaeologist Prof. Ayres (University of Oregon) the intricacy of the design suggests external cultural influence, probably from Asia. This may give weight to the theory that Hinduism once flourished deep into the Pacific, as far as Hawaii.

They already have it. Its called Niihau
Welfare state enshrined. Big money for some real estate folks through eminent domain and a certainty of an Obama Statue to replace the King.
Like K. Jenner, you may feel Hawaiian that day...
If they followed Hawaiian law, only the royal blood would own land and they could enslave the others at will.
Who’s checking and who makes the rules. This is just a Democrat move to insure another safe voting block and try for a 51st or 58th state and another senator.
Those who are conducting this sham should be fired!
Texas, for example, could hold a similar election, intended to select delegates to a convention, which will draw up governance documents for a Native Texan government--registration to vote restricted to Native Texans, who are defined as only those whose ancestors lived in Texas prior to 1835, and even then only to those willing to confirm a statement affirming the unrelinquished sovereignty of the Native people of Texas.
Oh all right! 1848.
once they get that thru, there’s no valid reason to block sharia in other US states
Why does the planet have to crack up while I’m still on it?
I remember as a little girl learning about the Soviet Union and thinking to myself: I’m so lucky to live in America.
I truly believed I was protected. Pretty naive, huh?
“The least American of the 50 states.”
I believe that there actually are some tricky legalities involving when they became a territory and state that might allow this.
Native Hawaiians were no more peaceful than any other Stone Age people. There were frequent inter-island wars for dominance.
Is not the island of Ni’ihau restricted to ancestral islanders per the statehood agreement?
Bullshitte.
can you imagine the panic if an army of ICE showed up in South Bay or Indiantown?
This should be a lesson for any moron who would like the Third World refuse of Puerto Rico to become the 51st state.
Does what they vote on affect only them, or everybody? I’d be screaming discrimination if I lived there.
LOL
They had a pretty good run from 1781 through 1866.
What a bunch of socialist racists.
