On Friday, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell actually fact-checked Hillary Clinton’s suspicious tale of trying to join the Marines in 1975: "Those comments are being mocked by Republicans today and they’re getting two Pinocchios from Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler....Why on earth would she go to a Marine recruiter in 1975?...It doesn't make sense." Her guest, Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz was so taken aback that the Florida congresswoman attacked Mitchell for asking questions: "With all due respect, Andrea, why on earth are we talking about this?" Mitchell hit back: "Because she brought it up in New Hampshire the other day. If she hadn't brought it up, it would not be an issue in this campaign."

I’m Hillary’s age, and had been out of the Marine Corps active duty for 7 years by 1975......people at age 28 weren’t enlisting anytime during those years (and probably still aren’t) - period.

During his reading, he mentally pronounced it as “myzled.”
Fast forward to this video clip. Even after hearing Andrea
correctly pronounce “misled,” Debbie Wasserman Schulz does
a “myzled.” Look for it around the one minute mark.

You got it. Much of our society lives with expected behavior that is just understood. Those who don’t understand are losers...literally as they are not even allowed in the game.
Non-political example. Chicago fans were extremely vocal in opposing the dirty play of Dennis Rodman until Phil Jackson brought Rodman to Chicago. Nobody told Rodman to play dirty.
But Rodman knew he was brought to Chicago to do his thing. He understood the game. Michael Jordan was the good guy who would never get a foul called on him. Rodman was to take the blame for everything.
The same is true in business, in politics, in much of our society. The media has unspoken expectations of others. Only rarely do they feel the need to remind someone what game they are playing.
