U.S. presidential candidate Ben Carson recommended praying for rival Donald Trump after the real-estate mogul and television personality, in a 95-minute rant in Iowa, likened him to a child molester, Carson's business manager said on Friday.
"When I spoke with Dr. Carson about this yesterday how we should respond, you know he was so sad about it. He said: "Pray for him." He feels sorry for him because he really likes Mr. Trump," Armstrong Williams, who often acts as Carson's surrogate in the media, told CNN.
"To see him just imploding before our very eyes - it's just sad to watch," Williams said.
Speaking in Iowa on Thursday evening, Trump, a leading contender for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential election, cast doubt on Carson's oft-reported story of lunging at someone with a hunting knife as a child, an episode Carson says led him to his Christian faith.
A retired neurosurgeon, Carson has emerged as the main challenger to Trump's top position in national polls and popularity in early deciding states. A Reuters/Ipsos poll this month found 31 percent of Republicans favored Trump. Carson followed at 18 percent.
"Give me a break," Trump said in his Thursday speech, where he also lashed out at other Republican candidates and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. "How stupid are the people of Iowa? How stupid are the people of the country to believe that crap?"
He said the incident showed Carson had a "pathological" temper.
"If you're pathological, there's no cure for that," Trump said. "If you're a child molester, there's no cure. They can't stop you."
Carson has said his intended stabbing victim's belt buckle blocked his knife, a detail Trump singled out in his rant.

Hey VanDork - I didn’t say anything about Trump after 9/11 comments so your point is only on the top of your head.
And I can deal with reality - which you obviously cannot. Trump has evolved into someone who can NEVER be elected because of his proclivity to offend everyone but the koolaide group.
I was pulling for him before he became totally unhinged. And his “I’m really a nice guy” bullish*t won’t fly anymore. I’ve been for Cruz all along so Trump’s self-destruction is fine with me.

Sorry, Trump's intention was to get the casual listener to associate the term "child molester" with Carson. It was a deliberate smear, which is typical of the way Trump works, apparently.

Also Trump’s playbook is exactly the same as Obama’s .
Obama destroyed his adversaries so he would not have to face them at the polls.

Oh, so you’re comparing Trump to ISIS now?
No question - but we also need someone who has clear, articulated policies. Carson cannot clearly state his healthcare policy. I don't think he has one or understands the other issues enough to be an effective executive. Trump cannot tell you anything specific about what he'll do. He just says he'll be "the best" at everything.
Neither would be effective as President.

Politics is WAR not a Sunday picnic. Too many on the right talk a lot of $hit, but when it comes to a real fight, they have less stomach than those kids at Missouri State. Hell they actually fight to win.
The left WILL NOT CARE how much this makes your tummy hurt. They will say far worse. They get it, too many on our side dont and think the best way to fight politics is by praying for your opponents.
Trump better watch it. This kind of stuff can’t help him even if your for him. There are plenty of policy differences between he and Carson that he could attack and should. Carson is playing this one better than Trump. Trump at this point just needs to go after Hitlery and Burn Boy. He doesn’t need to worry about Carson. Stuff like this makes him look like he’s getting worried.
For me, however, it’s still GO TED CRUZ!!!
